Really enjoyed this book. 4/5, would recommend. My first two books in this genre being Bury Our Bones in the Midnight Soil by V.E. Schwab and Hungerstone by Kat Dunn has set the bar so damn high. When it’s two of your favourite books of all time, it’s hard for other books to reach the same level

Strange reading experience. Excellently written but SUCH a slow burn. The first third wasn't grabbing me, not my usual genre. The rest had me completely enthralled. It took me 6 days to read the first third, and I genuinely considered stopping. Took me 2 days to read the rest. Never doubt R F Kuang.

Ok, so this book was amazing. Fantastically written but also a deeply uncomfortable read for large parts of it. It's rare I go wide eyed in bed reading something. I also read in bed to try and relax before going to sleep and this didn't help! 9/10 - not sure I would recommend? 😂

I've never seen such an effort to censor a document as I have the Amnesty International report on gender critical groups because of JK Rowling. They removed the report from the Wayback Machine and now I got a DMCA strike on my Google Drive for having it. It was deleted and removed from my account.
