Dog: Human sibling, please save me from the terror of the void that has declared himself your master. Me: The kitten is just playing with his fish toy. Dog: HE WILL DEVOUR US ALL. The dog is every large breed to ever exist. The kitten is a tenth of her size.

Getting reassured after learning your old clan might not be the norm after all. Read my webcomic, a 18+ forbidden romance between a man and a satyr set in medieval times. 🌳 behindthetrees.thecomicseries.com #behindthetrees #webcomic
Maël and Giroflée are sitting on a blanket on the forest ground. Maël takes Giroflée’s hand to reassure him. They sit in silence, looking at each other.

The image is of a four panel comic.
The first panel is titled “things that are spooky”. We see a book of hexes, a skull, candles, a pentagram in blood, and vampire teeth. Pointing off panel we see a speech bubble that says “I love it”.
The second panel is titled “things that are cute”. We see a strawberry cake, a boba drink, a bunny plushie, and a cute notebook and pen. Again, we see a speech bubble pointing off panel that says “I love it”.
The third panel is titled “things that are spooky AND cute”. We see a row of cute decorative ghosts.
The fourth panel shows Sarah, the protagonist, completely freaking out at this combination.

Four panel comic in black and grey. First panel: two white women, both with long dark hair. First woman has her hair open and is smiling. Second woman one has her hair up, she has glasses and is looking at a book, concerned. Woman with glasses: "I would like to be in a book club or something. I would love to talk more about books...". Other woman: "You should!"
Second panel: Woman with her hair open now looks more serious and looks at the woman with glasses, who is looking frustrated. Woman with glasses: "The problem is that I am super picky and only read things I want to read. And some people have bad opinions!"
Third panel: The woman with her hair open laughs while the woman with glasses looks curious about the reaction. Woman with the hair open: "So you want a book dictatorship!".
Fourth panel: Now the woman with her hair open looks surprised and the woman with glasses looks curious and excited. Woman with glasses: "Can I do that? How do I do that? Do you have tips?".

Happy #WorldOctopusDay! A year ago today I started my Octopolis Tarot deck. Here are some of the pieces that I've drawn since that I'm most proud of.
Strength by SS Julian, Digital Art. An octopus forces open the jaws of a moray eels as the two crash through a coral reef. A frightened frogfish flees in fear in the foreground. The Lovers by SS Julian, Digital Art. Two octopuses fall into each others arms in the bright light of a new day and a new world. As they draw near one another, their skin colors and patterns interweave with one another. The sun watches over their union in a coral bed filled with the crackle and burst of spawning polyps. Staved into the sandy bed are two shell-tipped spears. A woven net lies strewn about, one hooked end of which is held in the arm of the female octopus. The Hermit by SS Julian Digital art. An octopus sits ensconced in a dark blue cave, curled up against the surfaces and walls. She cradles a clutch of golden eggs, and blows air through them with her funnel. She holds a branch of bioluminescent coral in one arm, while her other arms commune with themselves, each other, or her eggs. The Empress by SS Julian Digital art. An orange octopus, reclines within her throne of fan coral and a corallimorph cushion. To one side she grasps a staghorn coral staff, and on the other a sad dollar shield. Within her web rest many developing eggs. Around her is wrapped a domesticated moray eel. All along her mantle crawl commensal crustaceans and molluscs. Her pattern is complex and enigmatic, evoking radial hydrozoans or flowers.

The grammatical 'colon' and the anatomical 'colon' are not etymologically related. The anatomical 'colon' comes from the Greek ‘kolon’ which means “large intestine.” The grammatical 'colon' comes from the Greek ‘kōlon’ which means “limb.” Both are a means to an end.

I know most of you guys don't go on the other app but the pope posted an anti AI/ pro artists statement yesterday, and the ensuing cope and memes is really funny
Pope Leo XIV
@Pontifex

In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.2016: I will never fight a holy war

2019: Pope Leo I am ready launch me towards the nearest data centersome AI guy saying he makes christian children's books with AI asking the pope if that is ok then and someone posting a meme react with the pope holding a baseball bat saying 'did I stutter'

There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Artists are allowed to make fucked up upsetting art. You are allowed to block them if it bothers or triggers you. You are not allowed to demand that transgressive art never exist. Especially when the artists are marginalized or queer and already have society trying to erase them.
