On Jacob Geller

I'm aware of the rape allegations against Jacob Geller, as well as the fact that his name is on a court-ordered list of UNC students disciplined for sexual violence. I've hesitated on whether to post anything about it, because the victim hasn’t been identified and I don’t want to participate in a retraumatizing conversation against their wishes. At the same time, as someone who has collaborated with Jacob Geller, I do not want my silence to be taken as endorsement.

For my part, I did not know about this and I wish I had. What justice and repair look like in cases like these are for the victim to decide, and I do not know their wishes or what accountability processes, if any, took place. However, strictly on a personal level, I’m uncomfortable having collaborated with someone who has presented himself as a nonthreatening feminist without ever disclosing his history of sexual violence to me or any other colleagues I’ve spoken to. I have no intention of ever working with Geller again. Beyond that, the person this happened to ought to be the ultimate authority on what happens next, and how they wish to tell their story if at all.

A digital painting of Fluttershy from My Little Pony (MLP) and Suitcase from Inanimate Insanity (ii). There is a lantern and a hook hanging from above the horizon line shining on them, creating a harsh contrasting shading. Fluttershy has her wing on Suitcase's head, as if to protect her and comfort her. Both of them have somber expressions as they sleep/rest together.

Marinler Zine @marinlerzine.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Vol 3 of “They Were Bunkmates” is out now! Grab a copy of this #StarTrekLowerDecks digital fanzine on dub.sh/marinler26 where 26 contributors come together to explore and celebrate #BeckettMariner and #BradBoimler ❤️💜 The zine is free; all donations will be sent to actionkivu.org/ #StarTrek #zine

The cover art for "They Were Bunkmates: A Marinler Fanzine- Volume 3" 2026.

Front cover (left):

ART by Orchi: An illustration with blue, purple and pink palette- the colors of a bisexual flag, loosely inspired by George Barbier’s iconic 1925 Art deco illustration "Le Feu" (Fire) published in Falbalas et Fanfreluches, Almanach des Modes.

Lieutenants Beckett Mariner and Brad Boimler are sitting on the wide railing of a balcony. They are both wearing the ceremonial while uniform lined with gold. Mariner is [partially laying on Boimler, resting her left arm in his lap. Boimler is cupping her head in his left hand.

In her right hand, Beckett is holding a salmon pink alien flower, which she is caressing Brad’s face with. He’s holding her hand in his and smiling at her. Beckett is whispering something to him.

Underneath them, on the railing is a see through sheet of sparkly pink Andorian silk. On the right side of the frame, next to where the railing ends, is a block with a giant flower pot on it. The pot has a white Calla Lilly like plant, with pink and blue leaves. The vase is white, with golden handles, rim and bottom. The railing, floor tiles, the block are also white, but lined with gold emblems. It is night time, and the dark blue sky behind them is lit by purple and red fireworks

Middle Spine: A purple art deco frame surrounded by dark blue background of a starry sky, the frame contents "They Were Bunkmates- A Marinler Fanzine" in fancy white lettering. Art by Ray Daly.

Back cover: (right)
ART by Foodcu-be: An Archie-comics style illustration of Mariner kissing Boimler on the cheek. Mariner has her eyes closed and is smiling. Boimler has one visible arm up in the air while he is dizzy and blushing. Floating around them cartoonishly are T’lyn, Rutherford, and Tendi. Rutherford is without his implant. There is a blue header across the top. The title reads “THEY WERE BUNKMATES #3” in red with a white stroke. In the comics corner box is a moopsy.

Day 10 of inserting "Weird Al" Yankovic into a Star Trek screenshot #WeirdTrek #StarTrek #StarTrekTOS #WeirdAlYankovic

A scene from the infamous Star Trek episode "Spock's Brain" sees Bones behind a panel attempting to reintegrate the Vulcan's stolen organ. Spock is lying down on a table, the crown of his head inserted into the machine the doctor is working on. Scotty watches with apprehension, joined by Kara. To the far right we see "Weird Al" Yankovic wearing sunglasses, jeans, and a brown fringed jacket. He's holding up a sign with the word "brain" on it.
