The purpose of a company need not be maximizing shareholder profits. That is one model from late stage capitalism (Milton Friedman) that correlates with the decline of democracy. A company can be successful by serving the community it operates in, employees, the environment, and its investors.

As a sci fi fan being able to watch my favorite stories especially epic space operas get made into realistic tv series is a definite highlight of modernity. CGI was introduced 20 years ago and now I can watch incredible ship mechanics on the Expanse or traveling the mycelium network on Discovery.
