A little smokey out today... But it should be a fun week

New lifer today! Not the best photos but finally got a couple of a yellow-bellied sapsucker. Also a photo of a clearly angry looking red-winged blackbird #birds

New lifer today! Was watching/taking photos of some ring necked ducks and hooded mergansers when another birder told me he had just heard an eastern towhee nearby. Was surprised to find one so far north so soon. I have a video that I will add shortly once I cut it down #birds

Heard a noise outside this evening, and when I looked I saw an unusual 'bird' at the bird feeder: #raccoon

I never knew about this awesome Steam library feature. It allows you to narrow down what games you have in common with friends to play together, even narrow down by genres/tags etc. VERY HELPFUL.

THREAD on the practice of "SIN-EATING" 🧵 In 19th-century Britain, it was customary during a funeral to provide biscuits for mourners to take away. They were often wrapped and sealed in black wax. Here you see an example of a funeral biscuit wrapper from 1828. 1/9
A wrapper that has yellowed with age. On it is text that reads: "Biscuits for the funeral of Mrs. Oliver. Died November 7th, 1828. Aged 52." Along with a prayer.
