"The arrival of the Korlqar Empire's armed emissary went utterly unnoticed at McDuncan's, partly because it was three in the morning, partly because the staff were all quite used to weirdos, eccentrics, performance artists, influencers, aspiring comedians, and other dregs of society." Fun reading!

In ancient China, cats were not just companions curled by the hearth. They were quiet weather-watchers, their small habits read like signs from the sky. If a cat washed its face, rain might be coming; if it chewed grass, storms were near. For farmers and families, 1/2 #caturday

Happy national fox day 🦊 I didn't even know that was a thing until after I finished this design, ahah! #formline #indigenousart #telekitneticart #nationalfoxday
A formline design of a red fox. The background is a gradient dark teal, and the fox is a striking rust-orange, with gradienting darker umber on its snout and tail, and pale yellow chest/ear fluff and tail tip. It has it's tail wrapped around it's body, hiding its legs. It's head is angled to the left side.

Cornell's SFF collection THE ASTRONAUT AMONG THE FLOWERS AND OTHER STORIES (at left), which shows an astronaut lying in a field of purple flowers under a pink and purple sky. At right white text on a purple background reads: "Cornell doesn't have a conventional approach to either science fiction or fantasy. She seems to circle those worlds but then come at it from unexpected angles, or through unusual points of view. As a result, each tale exists strongly as an island in an endless sea of quality speculative fiction, yet still carries her individual style and voice. - Jonathan Maberry, New York Times Bestselling Author of BEWILDERNESS and GHOSTS OF THE VOID."

Folklore Horror from Flame Tree Press is out today! In it you can find an incredible collection of stories, including my own short "For Limited Appearances", inspired by Northern Greek traditions and the home you've spent a lifetime trying to outgrow. www.flametreepublishing.com/folklore-hor...
Graphic showing the cover of Folklore Horror short stories by Flame Tree Press. The text reads: Whisperings in the gloom of the trees, primeval mysteries, terrifying omens unfolding… within all of us lurks innate fear and subconscious respect for ancient rites. Following on from our successful Beyond & Within title Folk Horror, we now present, for our Gothic Fantasy series, more stories rooted in the dark side of the land and nature, exploring ritual and isolation, and encompassing global mythologies and folktales. Packed with classic stories of horror and folklore alongside new stories selected from a hugely popular submissions round, this latest anthology is not one to be missed.
