Now this is cool. There's a rising trend that integrates tourism into productive agricultural environments, and its benefits are many for both the tourist and the farming community. I hope we see more of this in years to come. www.archdaily.com/1171797/neit... #solarpunk #circularsky

100%! The climate doesn't care if we are Democrats or Republicans: When we mess with it, it messes with us (and it bats last). Most Americans are concerned about climate change. Let's set aside partisan differences & solve this problem before it messes more with what we love. @katharinehayhoe.com

On this day, 25 years ago, Normal stopped. I was a child. I saw it on TV. I saw what came next. We lost people. We lost security. We lost stability. Then we let things slip through fearful hands. Civility. Law. Ethics. Unity. I became an adult in a country that never got back to normal. I mourn it.

Black text on white page that reads:

In 1882, 10,000 workers marched up Broadway in the first-ever Labor Day parade. Led by democratic socialists and organized by New York’s unions, they rallied the movement that went on to win us weekends, safety standards, overtime pay, a minimum wage, and social security.

None of those victories were guaranteed. And none are permanent.

We created the first-in-the-nation Office of Worker Power to put the full weight of City Hall behind the people who keep New York running. On Labor Day, we honor the workers who came before us by fighting for the workers who come next.

Happy Labor Day, New York. The future of worker power is ours to build. Learn more at nyc.gov/workerpower.

For Drake is no longer in his hammock, children, nor is Arthur somewhere sleeping, and you may not lie idly expecting the second coming of anybody now, because the world is yours and it is up to you. Now especially since man has the strength to destroy the world, it is the responsibility of man to keep it alive, in all its beauty and marvelous joy.

And the world will still be imperfect, because men are imperfect. Good men will still be killed by bad, or sometimes by other good men, and there will still be pain and disease and famine, anger and hate. But if you work and care and are watchful, as we have tried to be for you, then in the long run the worse will never, ever, triumph over the better. And the gifts put into some men, that shine as bright as Eirias the sword, shall light the dark corners of life for all the rest, in so brave a world.”
