Dear rest of the world, If you want to know why the US elected Trump given all the things you know about him, the reason is that America has tens of millions of people as ignorant as this. We just aren't a very smart country as a whole. bsky.app/profile/atru...

I saw a triple (or is it a quadruple?) rainbow! I’ve never seen a “Y” rainbow before. Photo taken in southeast Alaska.

A view of the sea and islands in cloudy weather. A bright double rainbow with “Y” angled arms stretches from the water to the sky.

Hot damn! These guys know how to put on a show ❤️ Many thanks, @dogsinapile.band #dogsinapile #kalamazoo

A psychedelic light show of greens and blues is streaming towards the viewer with a crowd basking in the glow. The silhouette of a musicians baseball hat is seen on stage.

I spoke to a live person, who thanked me for being so informed. Along with the facts, i spoke about how scared I was on Jan. 6 for the safety of all involved and about how we have not healed as a nation and need to shine light on this dark event.

I treated myself to halibut and chips. Oregon halibut is one of my greatest pleasures in this life when cooked right. Have mercy it was good!

Deep fried halibut fish and waffle cut chips. Served with cilantro and lime slaw, lemon, tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. Sitting on a table with an Oregon coast sunset.

Decrying violence against political opponents rings a bit hollow when you pull Secret Service protection from your political opponents.

The Paramount - Skydance merger will be worthless if no one is watching. Independent media is doing to corporate media what independent music did to major labels back in the day. Fuck with the people at your own risk, oligarchs.

IMPORTANT: Before the fascist attack on Senator Alex Padilla, Kristi Noem said that her gestapo in California were staying to "liberate the city socialist and the burdensome leadership that this governor and that this mayor have placed on this country." Don't let that slide by.

Dear wonderful accounts in the comments below, I made a list of accounts related to places I was planning to visit on a trip to Guernsey and the British Isles. Thank you all for posting and sharing! It helped me learn about stops on my journey. I wish each of you the best : ) It was an amazing trip!

Updated my card before the trip. I handed them to folks who expressed or hinted at dismay about the current situation in the US, people seemed to like them. It was a good exercise for me to put thought into what I wanted to express to others.

A bird of peace, a rainbow, cats, and a heart of gold on one side of a card. A fist of resistance on the other side.

I made some cards for a trip to the UK to hand out in case I get asked about politics

A business card stating "Trump should be held accountable for his crimes. We must stand by our allies and be good neighbors. Democracy needs to be protected and cherished. Due process is a non-negotiable right."

Business card backside stating "Let's resist fascism together"

In answer to Elon Musk: GM Gilbert was the chief psychologist who interviewed Nazis on trial at Nuremberg. "I think I've come close to defining evil: a lack of empathy. It's the one characteristic that connects all the defendants. Evil, I think, is the absence of empathy."

Bravo to Sen. Alsobrooks for her question. “We should not be giving Black people the same vaccine schedule as Whites because their immune system is better than ours.” — RFK Jr This is the deadlier version of the racist myth that Black people feel less pain, leading to denied pain meds.

FAFO

Father Calvin Robinson finished his remarks at the National Pro-Life Summit by throwing an Elon Musk salute, much to the delight of the crowd.

A Statement on Calvin Robinson
At approximately 3:00 pm today (1/29) members of the College of Bishops of the ACC were made aware of a post made on X showing the end of a speech made by Calvin Robinson at the National Pro-Life Summit in Washington, DC. In it, he closed his comments with a gesture that many have interpreted as a pro-Nazi salute.
While we cannot say what was in Mr. Robinson's heart when he did this, his action appears to have been an attempt to curry favor with certain elements of the American political right by provoking its opposition. Mr. Robinson had been warned that online trolling and other such actions (whether in service of the left or right) are incompatible with a priestly vocation and was told to desist. Clearly, he has not, and as such, his license in this Church has been revoked. He is no longer serving as a priest in the ACC.
Furthermore, we understand that this is not just an administrative matter. The Holocaust was an episode of unspeakable horror, enacted by a regime of evil men. We condemn Nazi ideology and anti-Semitism in all its forms. And we believe that those who mimic the Nazi salute, even as a joke or an attempt to troll their opponents, trivialize the horror of the Holocaust and diminish the sacrifice of those who fought against its perpetrators. Such actions are harmful, divisive, and contrary to the tenets of Christian charity.
Finally, we pray that God will give us grace to lay aside our unhappy divisions, and we commend our nation and ourselves to his almighty protection
