Boston, T scrap plans to extend region’s first-ever center-running bus lane on Columbus Avenue - The Boston Globe
The Wu administration and the T altered the latest design for Columbus Avenue to instead include side-running bus lanes in both directions between Jackson Square and Ruggles.

To a substantial portion of the news media the effects of their articles are not important, it's more the aesthetics and telling a compelling Story whether or not it's accurate. The accolades they give themselves reinforce this while their customers leave

It's not really a lecture it's like one sentence: "he doesn't get removed", so it's up to you to explain why this does anything different than the last time we did it I would say overall we don't really know what things will be like in six months so not committing to certain procedure is fine

I don't have any predictions here but if Bolsonaro were to win a lot of takes confidently declaring that Brazil learned more from its first dabbling in fascism (Flavio's father's term, which ended in a Jan 6-style attack on Brazilian democracy) are going to end up aging VERY poorly.

The idea was clearly to get those kinds of people, conservatives who care about rule of law to come to Democrats' side by not rushing a prosecution and laying the facts out in the Jan 6 committee. Unfortunately too many ppl in media thought Trump was good for business and ignored it

Secession anticipator @intolerablesit.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
It seems like if you are a conservative that cares about democracy more than high prices or racism or whatever then you wouldn't need a prosecution to move you to the democracy side. Successfully prosecuting Trump would help because he's unique but wouldn't solve the problem, see Brazil

Serious people will insist that had Merrick Garland just brought a case against trump more quickly, it would have ended the threat of fascism in the US, and they point to Brazil as an example
162
Secession anticipator @intolerablesit.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
I was told that all Merrick Garland had to do to end the far right anti democratic threat was bring a case against Trump slightly quicker, like Brazil had done to the elder Bolsonaro

Plus when Trump approval is down in the 20s, he has no real heir and he's visibly dying the incentive for Congress or SCOTUS to go completely beyond the pale to support him starts to evaporate, finally

This model is projecting at least a 0.5% chance of every outcome from Ds winning 268 seats to Ds winning only 208. This is unhelpful if you're not willing to make it a narrower confidence interval
000
Secession anticipator @intolerablesit.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
This is giving everything from d +101 to r +37 at least a 0.5% chance of happening. Not helpful!
010
Secession anticipator @intolerablesit.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
Even in projections that have a big D win as the median projection they always have a super wide confidence interval. Like this curve should be way more narrow even if your model says 225-230 D is the most likely

If the second thing happened you wouldn't need to do the first thing? But as others have said Gaza won't matter, they will find a different thing to complain about. They should be ignored or preferably actually called out as wreckers, candidates are way too scared to do that

after 10/7, here in DC, there were some decently sized but not super large pro-palestine protests, and they ended with a number of people vandalizing statues selfishly Then the March for Israel happened mid-Nov which was peaceful and had over 100K attendees Which do you think Congress noticed...

"pro Palestine protestors are less committed and more scared of violence than will stancil and wine moms at No Kings protests" isn't really the line I'd be going with but there isn't much other explanation I suppose
