The movie is like “the mastermind” for me in that it turned me off so much that I’m reading more and more from people who liked it so that I can figure out what I missed or, more likely, what a bunch of idiots they all are. Still baffled by how needlessly obnoxious the soundscape of it was.

Feels like, especially relative to 5-7 years ago, the entertainment factor of most NFL games is way down. Lots of slog only sometimes leading up to a big bang finish. League has never been shy about adjusting rules. Wonder if they’re considering tweaks? To do what?

Reading reviews and comments about Digger and there’s a lot of “it’s about this” “No it’s actually about that” with five different themes. Sometimes that’s a sign of a quality movie with a surprising amount of depth Sometimes it’s just that the movie is a real messy piece of shit.

Random stadium thoughts… In game presentation was a lot better this year. Fewer cheap games for $10 prizes. More seeing fans on the screen — what we want! Example: big improvement with the stupid karaoke “duel” for a single can of Bud to a full crowd singalong.

Here’s the roster of umpires for the first set of series. I have no idea who 90% of these umps are. 20 years ago i could’ve named 100%. Standardization has sawed off the edges of their talent and personalities. Probably a good thing I shouldn’t really know who these guys are.

The one thing about spending money is that, as you saw with Werth and Max, sometimes you need to do it a year earlier than anyone would think. You saw that in the flabby results and poor ticket sales this year. Only so much you can spend in a single offseason. But over 2-3? Alas.
