My response to you was how did your capitulation strategy work for abortion and proceeded from there. It is a complicated process and the constant Dem response of belittling people begging for help has been a losing strategy for 50 years. The standard Dem response should change.

Did you miss where I said I vote for every national dem. I work in bail reform, feed unsheltered people and try to fill in the cracks of the broken welfare system that the Dems have gleefully torn up. I do not know how anyone thinks voting is an adequate response to the US today

Also, I have voted for every national democratic candidate in every election since. Held my nose for all of them, except Obama the first time. I still get the "Shut up! Republicans are worse all the time. You will eat this shit sandwich and be grateful." I am not the one who needs to change tactics

I had my first (minor)paid campaign position in 1988. A red state Senate race. He had polling to determine how to be pro choice. He became pro life. Lost by the largest margin in the history of the state. I learned a lesson from that and left Dem politics. Dems still seem to struggle with it.

Abortion is POPULAR! It was a winning issue as proven by all the successful constitutional amendments since Roe was overturned. Instead, the Ds never grew a spine. They caved, over and over on everything. Unions, healthcare, civil rights, working class issues, constant war. Women are dying today

The democratic messaging on abortion was exactly the same. Hyde Amendment, waiting periods, parental permission, medical licensing issues. Dems defended these things as reasonable restrictions. We were told to not be single issue voters and the Dems are a Big Tent. Shut up and vote D! Rs are worse!

How did that work out for us on abortion?

InterestingWalrus @interestingwalrus.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
How did you discuss abortion in the 90s? Were you fighting policies like No Medicaid funding for abortions or Parental Permission, Waiting Periods? Or did you tell us repeatedly, "Republicans are worse!" Either way, Republicans got their wish and women are dying.

I wish I had done this on abortion in the 90s. Could not have been a much worse result.

InterestingWalrus @interestingwalrus.bsky.social · 12/09/2026
How did this strategy work out with abortion? My entire life the Dems told me to shut up. Roe will save us. Parental permission, waiting periods, partial birth abortion bans are legit! You are selfish to want reproductive autonomy! Shut up!

You are not a burden, you are enough. Friends help friends. “Friends would rather see you messy and alive than not here at all.” 💚
Love my friends, being released from the hospital made me all the more thankful for them. Being home is a relief, but also a lot. It's okay to not okay AND it's mentionable & manageable to say, "I feel like a burden."
Do you ever feel like a burden? Lean on these words by Jazz Thornton: "You are not a burden, because you belong. To you, the person who is reading this right now: you belong. You may have a burden, but you are not a burden."
Friends help friends. Victoriously messy and alive

Opinion | While the end of NATO would be tragic, it's a price that must be paid so I can win my next Republican primary.

I am already living as if we are moving toward fascism. I am old, so I am engaging in a lot of wishful thinking, so I am setting up so I can cash out when I retire. I have a very short list of countries I may be able to move to. In addition, I am focusing on building a local network of ppl to help

I am older w/ no real money. I feed my neighbors, build community & support the people I can. I have to watch what I say to keep my public sector job. Ppl of color and the poorer ppl are in much more peril. You may not have to watch out, but people with less do.

I am super old and crime was astronomically higher in the 70s. It has been getting steadily lower. I still walked to school or rode the bus, even to less economically advantaged schools.

what's a traditional food of your people/culture that everyone else seems to love that you absolutely cannot stand? for me it is vada pav. Vada is incredible, pav is fantastic, in combination they cancel each other out and become a black hole of anti-taste

Are you familiar with the demographic composition of Georgia? It is 50% other. The 50% white people gerrymander and pass laws to stop the people of color from voting. States like Missouri, Iowa and Kansas are beholden to their 80%+ white majority. The deeper south have hope because they are less wte
