How many words do you think you could write in a 48 hour period at a writing retreat with five friends there to distract you but also sometimes to threaten you to put your phone down and write? #WriterSky #BookSky

i love that we got 4 new hubble images today and we still continue to get more after 35 years 🥹 hubble really is the little telescope that could!!!

Composite shows four Hubble images in quarters. At top left is a crisp view of Mars in shades of orange, blues, and browns. At top right is planetary nebula NGC 2899, which is shaped like a single macaroni noodle, with its central torus appearing semi-transparent and blue and green, and its top and bottom edges in orange. At bottom left is a tiny portion of the Rosette Nebula. Very dark gray material shaped like a triangle takes up the center. At bottom right is barred spiral galaxy NGC 5335 with a milky yellow center that forms a bar surrounded by multiple blue star-filled spiral arms that wrap up counterclockwise.

I often feel like the odd one out with my book opinions so this definitely felt really nice to see other people have similar thoughts

it’s a netgalley e-arc 😭 I gotta dedicate at LEAST 30% before I’m like ew

I KEEP GETTING SIDETRACKED BY TIK TOK OR INSTA WHEN I NEED TO BE READING

anyone else do this? be in the middle of a book and you’re like “damn I don’t really like this” and then you go look at the reviews and everyone agrees with you. satisfying

why do clothing brands really think the waist circumference is 10 inches less than the hips on a plus size person 😭😭

Mor 📚 @inkwellshadows.bsky.social · 02/04/2025

there’s one thing about threads people that irks me is that they enjoy responding to troll posts that are clearly and obviously rage bait. it makes me feel like they’re disingenuous and enjoy the attention that comes w/ “standing up” like ma’am that’s a bot

In personal news, I'm scheduled for top surgery on April 2nd! It'd be super rad if you could help in one of these ways: - Throw like $10 my way - Share this post - Tell me your best "I had surgery and it was chill and I worried for nothing" story because I have anxiety lol aceofbens.com/gfm

Help Ben Actually Get Top Surgery This Time!

Last Time I tried in 2023, insurance said "lol no" and the surgeon asked me for six thousand dollars. I would like to able to pay and get this over with.

The background is a photo of me, a white guy with short dark hair and glasses, kneeling behind a chalk drawing of the words "Trans Rights" colored in with the pattern of the trans pride flag.

I deal with this too, especially being an ADHDer, so I make a schedule/reward system “you have to at least read x percent of this e-arc today and then you can read or do whatever else you want to” and I’ll read the exact same % for whatever time frame I dictate until I finish
