Great summary of what went wrong for right-wing politicians in Australia. Maybe the lack of any curiosity about the lives and experiences of other people is what leads you to being utterly unable to read the room. DEI, empathy and curiosity are crucial for a strong, healthy and resilient society.

A feedback loop tanked Dutton's campaign in its final week
Reactionary newspapers and the outdoor advertising sector might have immediately profited from the last few weeks of the election campaign but it didn't seem to help politicians at the polls.

Port Darwin is a critical asset and should be in public hands to meet the needs of the NT and the Australian economy. Labor and the Coalition think the issue is whether a US or Chinese corporate own it. The Greens know the real contest is public v corporate, and we say public.

It's shocking that Trump has asked Australian universities if their research includes things like gender studies, but it's even more wild learning how reliant our research institutes are on US funding. Our unis really struggle to grasp not putting all your eggs in one basket. Hopefully that changes.

The Prime Minister should not be inviting Trump to Australia. Trump is a danger to peace and a danger to democracy. He emboldens hate and hard-right ideology. We should be rethinking our relationship with Trump's US, not sucking up to him.

So I've had this meme stuck in my head recently and went on a deep dive to find out the source. Discovered the "difficult difficult" line is from a British satire called 'In the Loop' (2009). A review described it as a modern Dr Strangelove filmed like The Office which sounds amazing!
Meme of a woman biting a laptop in frustration with the words: "when you thought everything was going to be easy peasy lemon squeezy but it's actually difficult difficult lemon difficult."
