Remember this throughout the year too. With Xmas coming up etc. For me it's a question of morality too. If you're fine with people being harassed, attacked, murdered because of their skincolour, faith or place of birth, then I don't want you in my life. No matter how close we once were.

Ticketmaster making me angry again. Service fee for a gig at Vicar Street €5.10. Venue facility fee €1.50. Didn't know you can now also buy a souvenir ticket "so when the show ends, the memory doesn't". A bargain at €5.99. If you're a lunatic.

We don't use a lot of graphic design as we're a coffee roaster and we're pretty bad at marketing/Instagram etc. When we do need something designed, we use a person and not an AI. They're skilled. It's their job and I don't want to be part of the reason someone loses income. We all need to pay bills

Here’s the most incredible story you’ll read today. A small plane with four people aboard crashes in a field. Another pilot witnesses it. That pilot happens to be flying a bunch of skydivers. They offer to jump to assist, are given permission. The skydivers happen to be EMTs. Everyone survives.

Ireland? I will not be watching this team again. My children can decide for themselves
Ireland’s footballers could have shown what happens when people with something miniscule to lose decide that principle matters more than their own convenience. They chose self-interest

13 of 20 Premier league Clubs have US owners. Rumours suggest players were told they could forget about playing for any of those if they decided not to play in this game. Knowing this makes Bazunu's stand even more laudable and if he's facing pushback from anyone in Irish football, it's a disgrace.

Fergal Keane: 'For Bazunu to refuse to play is a sacrifice that required immense moral courage. Ultimately, he was the lone voice who said no, and that will be remembered in the broken alleys of Gaza.'
After his time in the West Bank, he went back to Gaza and trained young footballers. Then October 7, 2023 happened. Then the war. On August 6 last year, he went to queue for food at an aid distribution site in southern Gaza and was killed by Israeli fire.

Suleiman al-Obeid left behind his wife and five children. He is not the only Palestinian footballer to be killed. Local officials put the death toll of players in the hundreds. Sports facilities and school playgrounds have been destroyed.

Gavin Bazunu and his colleagues on the Ireland team surely know about Suleiman al-Obeid. They share with him something precious: the knowledge that the moment you don your country’s shirt, in whatever code, you become a representative of the nation. It is a privilege and a responsibility.

For Bazunu to refuse to play is a sacrifice that required immense moral courage. Ultimately, he was the lone voice who said no, and that will be remembered in the broken alleys of Gaza.
