Schooling is interrupted, their parents become financially incentivised to keep them working even if it’s having negative impacts (which we’ve seen over and over again) and clearly they are often placed in unsafe situations and exploited in variously horrible ways

I think the crucial question is “why do we make an exception to child labour laws for this one specific thing” I’m sure there are kids who love to perform but other than that I cannot think of a single positive aspect of the experience *for the children themselves*
