10/6/26 Chicagoland ICE activity update: Rapid responders report ICE has been heavily active in Rockford, IL since at least ~7:20 a.m. Reports of at least 2 detainments, maybe more. Rockford rapid responders last put out an ICE activity alert ~45 min. ago; it's unclear if ICE is still in the area.

So, how do we sink 287(g)? 1️⃣ Vote in your local elections. Those down ballot races, whether its your sheriff*, county board, town council, etc., might be the most effective way to block your local LEAs from participating. (depending on the county, at least...)

At the risk of contributing to the overuse of "[blank] deserves more coverage", I get the sense the general public is still unaware of what the 287(g) program is. But I _know_ the general public is unaware there is up to $22,500 available to these agencies for each child "located" for ICE.

staff did not adequately relay Mr. AYALA-Uribe’s status to the on-call provider. 3) Medical
staff did not effectively transfer care from one staff member to another. 4) Medical staff did not
consistently respond to Mr. AYALA-Unribe’s medical complaints timely. 5) Medical staff did not
administer all of Mr. AYALA-Uribe’s pill line medications. 6) Medical staff did not adequately
document all of Mr. AYALA-Uribe’s care timely, all discussions related to his plan of care, or
his refusal of ordered medications. 7) AIPC’s staffing hindered their ability to provide their
patient population medical care in accordance with timeframes established by accreditations
standards.

A key component of the Cambridge Analytica outrage was your friends subjecting you to data theft without your consent or knowledge. Facebook is running the same playbook on your text messages. Even if you’re not on Meta properties, they’re ingesting your interactions.

Aten installed Muse on both his iPhone and a Mac mini that he uses to test out various Al agents and tech. It took Meta a single day to begin "helpfully" pitching article ideas based on texts he'd sent to a podcast co-host.
When he asked Muse how it got the information, it said that it read banners from incoming texts. But that's not true, either.
After doing a little digging, Aten says Muse synced 187,000 lines from his Messages database, despite Full Disk Access being Off.

Unless Aten is the most popular person on the face of the planet, I sincerely doubt he'd gotten 187,000 lines of text in roughly 24 hours. What happened is that, without permission, Muse went into the app and downloaded the information.
He had not given Muse permission to access Messages, and full disk access was not enabled. It just went ahead and uploaded those texts anyway.
Muse can take "unexpected actions" indeed.

We already have an accessible interface that allows you to deploy the computer to undertake various tasks: It's called a fucking keyboard and mouse. LLM "agents" only obfuscate the actual mechanics of computing and leave their users with no choice but to accept their unreliable results.

The fundamental problem with GenAI has not changed since day 1. The simulation of meaning is not meaning. The simulation of intention is not intention. AI is ontologically incapable of tasks that require meaning or intention, and tasks that do not are already handled by pre-existing computing tech.
