I don’t argue about this to feel self-satisfaction about being tigbt, I argue about it to try and persuade; this is a critical issue of public policy and whether AI is at all worth its costs and many evils is part of what should form policy.

This question at least has a lower bound since humans are a cognition source and we have a rough idea of what demand for human cognition is like. But if AIs could deliver cognition they'd be people, basically, so you couldn't just treat them like a product.

I think there’s also a cultural distinction re: people are raised eating meat and it takes immense willpower to stop. We are trying to PREVENT it from being culturally normal to do AI for everything.

No. The burden was already de facto so placed, I think. Defendants of this kind always have an uphill battle and just saying “nuh uh” without some affirmative story backed by evidence is generally a poor strat. TL;DR, it was already legally tough for them and #MeToo has not made it tougher imo.
