BREAKING A federal judge NULLIFIES the purported “settlement” behind Trump’s $1.776B slush fund, finding there was never a “case or controversy” — and referring his attorney for possible professional discipline. Doc storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

shutting down a major artery into the city during a holiday weekend while the world cup is in town and there’s a historic heat wave that’s lead to energy rationing just so you can have a wedding is a real radicalizing eat the rich moment

What's happening in Minnesota is one reason the Reconstruction Amendments banned insurrectionists from holding office. Unfortunately, the originalists on the Supreme Court interpreted the plain language of the amendment to mean its opposite.

Shocked by the awful death of Rob Reiner. I spoke with him for over an hour last night. We talked about his work and his plans for the future. I always enjoyed his company. We met at his Dad's in 1975. Last thing he said to me was "See you next year.." Such a terrible end. Such a sweet man.

I think Pecan Pie is one of those things that is divisive now because it’s just a blob of sugar with nuts on it but to someone 150 years ago who ate shoes it was probably like having 12 orgasms at once

I don’t want anyone to receive threats, but for many years Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has enjoyed this sort of energy from President Trump when it’s been directed at her political enemies and now objects to it when she’s on the receiving end.
I am now being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hot bed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world.
The man I supported and helped get elected.
Aggressive rhetoric attacking me has historically led to death threats and multiple convictions of men who were radicalized by the same type rhetoric being directed at me right now.
This time by the President of the United States.
As a woman I take threats from men seriously.
I now have a small understanding of the fear and pressure the women, who are victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his cabal, must feel.
As a Republican, who overwhelmingly votes for President Trump's bills and agenda, his aggression against me which also fuels the venomous nature of his radical internet trolls (many of whom are paid, this is completely shocking to everyone.
My phone is blowing up with constant amazing support. I'm so thankful!
The Political Industrial Complex and the toxic violent nature of American politics must end.
Our country is worth saving and it can only be done if we pull together and save ourselves.

I think democrats should push for a thorough review of all Elon Musk govt contracts as part of their 2026-8 portfolio. Why are taxpayers financing the work of a racist near-trillionaire? Leaving that unexamined was one of the biggest failures of the last Dem majority.

centrists will tell you to your face that we all need to abandon identity issues, and focus on kitchen table issues instead and yet when a leftist candidate runs a generational campaign based on kitchen table issues, it's the centrists weaponizing identity politics to smear the leftist.

Check out Justice Eddins’ complete repudiation of the Roberts Court here. It’s worth reading in full. It’s quite brave—and exceedingly rare—for a sitting judge to speak so candidly and scathingly about SCOTUS’ partisan contortions of law, history, and fact. www.courts.state.hi.us/wp-content/u...
The Supreme Court devalues democracy. Thirty-seven state
constitutions block public funds from supporting religious
entities. Richard Schragger, Micah Schwartzman & Nelson Tebbe,
Reestablishing Religion, 92 U. Chi. L. Rev. 199, 211 (2025) .
The Court aims to federally-repeal these state constitutional
provisions.
The Court's beliefs meddle with local and state
governments. Forcing states to send public funds to religious
entities federalizes public policy. By unprincipled fiat. See
also New York State Rifle & Pistol Ass'n, Inc. v. Bruen, 597
U.S. 1 (2022) (zero to superpower).
Taxpayer funds now flow to religious institutions. So, the
government collects money from nonbelievers (under the threat of
jail), and uses some of it to support religion. And since not
all religions will receive public funds, the government forces
minority faiths to support other faiths, or else.
The Court twists text, history, purpose, precedent, and
public meaning to offend the First Amendment's character-of-
government structure and the Constitution's separate sovereignty
structure.
As it steamrolls both, the Court says nothing about church-
state separation and federalism principles. The Court's
nevermind stance to the structural features of the Constitution
"has unfolded with little engagement with, and occasional

A meme from Arrested Development:
"We should try capitulating to the wannabe dictator like cowards of the past"
"Well did it work those people?"
No, it never does, I mean, these people somehow delude themselves into thinking it might, but ..."
"... but it might work for us."

With fewer protections and harsher reviews, workers become more disposable, more silent, and easier to replace. This is about control, not efficiency.

All that Republicans really seem to want is to massacre their fellow citizens, and they seem to want it very much. I think it would be responsible for the public discourse to include this fact in every single story about pretty much any topic.

apparently Elon's gotten so mad about Grok not answering questions about Afrikaners the way he wants, xAI's now somehow managed to put it into some kind of hyper-Afriforum mode where it thinks every question is about farm murders or the song "Kill the Boer"
Keir Starmer: I've already returned over 24,000 people with no right to be here. And I won't stop there.

twitter user: @grok Is this post misleading?

Grok: The claim of white genocide in South Africa is highly debated. Some evidence, like reports of farm attacks and political rhetoric, suggests violence against white farmers...a user asks Grok to translate Chinese text on a photo, and it responds with a translation of "Kill the Boer" into Urdua user asks if something shown in a video is an effective way to clear sinuses, and Grok says the query is unrelated to "the provided analysis on white genocide in South Africa"
