That was a mad race! And that’s it for this season’s title tilt for George Russell & it’s Kimi Antonelli’s to lose now. A brilliant drive by both Max Verstappen & Lewis Hamilton. And another terrible weekend for Lando Norris.

I like this idea! Alongside a mega fine & a transfer ban, this would be a fine punishment
From faceache:

“A former Premier League executive has suggested deducting 20-25 POINTS from City EVERY SEASON for THREE TO FIVE YEARS if serious breaches are ultimately proven.

Rather than hitting City with one enormous points deduction in a single campaign, the idea would be to make them live with the punishment season after season.

And the thinking behind it is VERY interesting.

A 20-25 point deduction might not necessarily be enough to relegate a team of City’s quality.
Instead, it could leave them stuck in a Premier League “DEAD ZONE”.

Good enough to comfortably survive…

But starting every season so far behind the top clubs that qualifying for the Champions League becomes extremely difficult.

And then, once the season finishes, it happens AGAIN.

Another 20-25 points deducted.

Potentially for as many as FIVE consecutive seasons.

That could have a huge knock-on effect.

No Champions League football could impact revenue, make recruitment more difficult and potentially affect City’s ability to attract or retain some of the world’s best players.

It would also mean the punishment couldn’t simply be served in one bad season before everything returned to normal.

The consequences could follow City around for YEARS.

Of course, this is only a suggested approach, and any actual sanction would depend on what was ultimately proven and what punishments were available under the relevant rules.

But it would certainly be a fascinating alternative to immediate relegation.

Instead of sending City down and potentially watching them come straight back up, they would begin multiple Premier League seasons with a MASSIVE handicap.

20-25 POINTS.

EVERY SEASON.

FOR THREE TO FIVE YEARS.

Would THIS be a fair punishment if serious breaches were proven?”

What Man City should get: a billion pound mega fine, a 50 point deduction & a 10 transfer window ban whenever they return to the top flight. Plus, a new “fit & proper persons” test on the leadership who cheated. What Man City will get: a 2 million slap on the wrist & a single transfer window ban.

If the report is accurate, I think the EPL offer City a choice: - a £1bn fine and a 5 year transfer ban - a £500m fine, stripping of all titles won during the period & repayment of prize money - a £250m fine and a 50 point deduction to be applied immediately - no fine but expulsion from the league

An interesting note in the Guardian:
“Paul Stothard, a partner at global law firm Norton Rose Fullbright: “This result, if upheld, will open the floodgates to further legal challenges.

“Manchester City being found liable for 114 out of 115 rule breaches means that other clubs may choose to pursue compensation for lost revenue, missed European qualification or relegation – though they would need to be able to prove how City’s breaches impacted on their own ability to compete and their quantifiable loss.”

Huge news if true: The Athletic are reporting that Man City have been found guilty on 114 of the 115 charges they faced. No sanctions are reported & there will be countless appeals but this could result in a range of penalties, including being kicked out of the top flight, though fine more likely.

If protesting against genocide is the equivalent of terrorism then so should privately 'patrolling' the busiest shipping lane in the world and attacking a dinghy. If you proscribe one you have to do the same to the other. Lets see if Burnham & Mahmood have the cahones to do it.
