@charlierad.bsky.social is spot on here. Thank you to @ecasalicchio.bsky.social and @politico.com for elevating our voices. We doff our caps to those of the greatest generation and hold them in their rightful sacrosanct position. However, let’s not forget our veterans of today.

An experiment. Can you like this post if (and only if) you play and buy video games. Some people over on Twitter/X seem to think it's only game developers here. (reposts welcome to spread the word)

It’s been an enjoyable (but tiring) couple of days celebrating my first-born’s 16th birthday this weekend. Hugely proud of the young woman she’s grown in to with her kindness, enthusiasm, generosity and wicked sense of humour. Happy Birthday Evangeline xxx

VIP tickets booked for We Have Ways Fest V in Sept after such an incredible long w/e in July this year. It was scorching weather but plenty of great cider to quench thirst, whilst listening to great talks from people such as @claremulley.bsky.social James May and @almurray.bsky.social. Can’t wait!

I talked previously about issues with Veterans UK and their obfuscation, denials and failures with my case. I’m not the only one failed. This is the Independent Complaints Report about the handling of my complaint. It never came with security classification so, here it is! #VeteransUK #Veterans

I think she said the quiet part very much out loud. Dimmer than a 1 Watt bulb that’s switched off.

I’ve moved on to this incredible album by Pulp, purely because of my previous post! It’s tracks like ‘Acrylic Afternoons’ that, I believe, could only be made by a very English band. It’s sleazy, sexy and sultry. Brilliant live as well! open.spotify.com/track/5mJTv6...

In the yrs after medical discharge from the RAF, and yrs in and out of hospital, I began volunteering and taught myself how to do traditional coach painting. In 2011, I started a business doing this and had the chance to paint things like this! Fastest steam loco, Mallard, Flying Scotsman and an HST

Morning all! I thought I’d use Sunday morning to talk about my challenges in accessing my disability pension from Veterans UK (Ministry Of Defence) after injury in service. The highlighting of unfairness in this system, the misapplication of rules by VUK and unnecessary suffering placed on veterans

So, we’re supposed to post photos of our bookshelves and pets? I’ve already done the pets (this is 50% of the cat quota) and ‘some’ of the book collection. This is AFTER a large number were donated to Lytham Hall because I’d run out of space. Spy/Thriller/Crime/Historical Fiction/History and more!

Still my favourite album of all time. I’ve seen The Mission so many times and never been disappointed to see them live. A genuine deep love for this band.

cartoon of the day

A satirical cartoon of a passenger on a plane saying the pilot has lost touch with regular passengers before adding: “who thinks I should fly the plane?” Everyone puts their hands up.
