Same problem in the UK. Unfortunately, we’re still having Vets fighting against the Ministry Of Defence because of disabilities caused by Nuclear Testing in the 60’s. Our Govt won’t recognise GWS and I fought for 5yrs for my disability pension purely because they could refuse. Vets deserve better.

Plus, if you are disabled, life is expensive! Especially if your partner is your carer and is tied to the ridiculously small amount for Carer’s Allowance. It costs approximately £4kp/w for full time professional care. My wife does it for £81.90p/w. Pay people a proper income for caring!!

I’ve recently returned to education to gain a degree and couldn’t agree more with your thread. Finding my own ‘academic voice’ to present my own thoughts and arguments in papers is hugely important and rewarding to me. It’s that reward that keeps me studying.

And, rightfully so! It looks awesome!

That pretty much sums up the last 26 years for me. I do believe there’s a lot of people who think we use our conditions as an excuse to get out of doing something. That we couldn’t be THAT bad or, they saw us doing something yesterday so we should be fine today. Drives me crazy.

Thanks Tom. It was great fun for ten years before the old body caught up with me! I’ve reduced the scale of things I paint now, just to try and keep some semblance of skill, butit’s just not the same as painting full size locos and classic cars.

Hey, it’s nobody’s fault! I’ve learned to live each day as its own and let those days when I’m too ill just pass over me without too much stress these days. Books, music, films, rest, friends and family all help me get through it. Without that, it would be too much. Tomorrow is another day!!

As someone in that boat, it’s all consuming. It takes part of you and tramples it underfoot and is irreparable. I’ve lived like this since 20 and I’m 46 now with things only getting worse. I’ve worked hard on mindfulness but there’s times it’s inescapable. Sad, but true!

I love spending hours ‘working away’ on farming simulator. I need to invest in a decent PC for Farming Simulator 25 and the new Microsoft Flight Simulator.

We know that the final would be Pickled Onion Monster Munch Vs Roast Beef Monster Munch.

There’s bringing your own camp equipment or, as we did, book the glamping option. You can either have the tent pitched for you or can have proper beds, tables and chairs added. With my crippled back, it made absolute sense to pay for proper beds! Lots of facilities on site too.

You’d really enjoy it. It’s incredibly friendly, great site with lots going on, great food (The Curry Man for dinner but does a cracking breakfast as well!), good beer and it’s not ridiculously priced like some festivals are. It was my first time in July and it blew me away with how good it was.

It’s a great podcast and the festival was genuinely superb!
