🧵 One of the greatest Irish artworks is a stained glass window by the great Harry Clarke (1889-1931). The window is a depiction of a poem by Keats called The Eve of St Agnes. It was completed in 1924. The beauty of the piece if that all the elements - the characters work together visually [1]

Even the GB News presenter is thrown by his guest's suggestion that all asylum seekers be castrated. This is what happens when the narrative marches ever rightwards. It drifts out of everyone's control and requires individuals involved to suddenly realise 'no wait, f***, that's mad'.

You have to consider in a normal political party, such massive donations would have been revealed at the Annual Conference to lift the party faithful. Yet here we have the news one week after a low energy Reform Conference 🤔

I’ve reached the point - well actually, I reached it a while ago - where I’m militantly anti-AI. Fine - use it in bioscience labs and radiology where it might help analyse data more effectively. Use it sparingly for systems engineering. Everywhere else, it can fuck off.

6.3m UK workers are in jobs with no guarantees of when they will work. How much they will earn, whether they will have enough hours or a job. More than half have lost money through short-notice and cancelled shifts, wasted transport/childcare costs. Millions can't buy a home, start a family.

Non-lunatic media coverage of Reform policy announcements has become routine by this point: one par explaining policy, then a par explaining why it is ineffective/counter-productive/unrelated to the problem it is intended to solve, then a quote from a Reform spokesman about a conspiracy of lizards.
