So a good portion of store listings are things that conceptually exist or did at some point and are kept entirely to make you think they're still available and to drive traffic to other things that would be more profitable

Like the NHS and education, they only exist insofar as they can be dangled and you can go "oh ok" but when you try to use them it's fairly obvious they're just Potemkin villages

I was looking for a type of product and everywhere that listed something similar was out of stock so my current conspiracy theory is that, like most things in England, store listings are fake.

A fascinating editorial decision from the BBC, to make the headline a scaremongering “AUTISM AND ADHD ARE BEING OVERDIAGNOSED”, and then, four bullet points later, have the author of the report quoted as essentially saying “nah, that’s bullshit, actually”.

He told her he believed there was an "over-diagnosis" of mental health conditions.
