This funerary cone belonged to a royal scribe called Ramose, who lived during the reign of Taharqa (25th Dynasty). The name of the king appears in a cartouche in the fourth column, followed by that of Ramose. Both are identified as mAa-xrw “justified”, indicating that they were deceased. (1/2)

On Tuesday at the NYPL I could see their Gutenberg Bible. I own a facsimile of the Göttingen copy. While the printed text is the same in both, illumination and rubrics where still handwritten, and notable differences can be seen in the same pages of the New York copy and mine. #bibliophile
