Just a reminder that abolishing ICE should be the default mainstream American stance. Any agency or organization pepper spraying a peaceful US Senator is dangerously out of control.

It’s crystal clear now that Trump has lost control of this war. He badly misjudged Iran’s ability to retaliate. The region is on fire. 1/ I’m going to explain to you in this🧵what I’ve learned - in part from closed door briefings - about the four biggest current crises.

I still find it odd that Columbia, Brown, Cornell, Penn, & Northwestern, which theoretically have some of the best law schools in the country, didn’t bother to use that legal acumen when they were asked to pay millions of dollars. How good can you be at law when you can’t even defend yourself?

This would seem to effectively expand the category of people ICE can arrest without a warrant to “people not currently under arrest”
ICE has long interpreted that standard to mean situations in which agents believe someone is a "flight risk," and unlikely to comply with future immigration obligations like appearing for hearings, according to the memo. But Mr. Lyons criticized that construction as "unreasoned" and
"incorrect," changing the agency's interpretation of it to instead mean situations in which agents believe someone is unlikely to remain at the scene.
"An alien is 'likely to escape' if an immigration officer determines he or she is unlikely to be located at the scene of the encounter or another clearly identifiable location once an administrative warrant is obtained," Mr. Lyons wrote.
The Times shared a description of the memo's contents with several former senior ICE officials from the Biden administration. Claire Trickler-McNulty, a former senior adviser at ICE, called the new definition "an extremely broad interpretation of the term 'escape?"
"It would cover essentially anyone they want to arrest without a warrant, making

Perfect example of why Democrats lose. While Trump takes decisive action, Dems make the same posts that you & I make, perhaps followed up next week with a strongly worded resolution. An actual opposition would shut everything down and make sure our military never goes through that again.

www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025... Guardian shows how to do reporting in 2025.
Excerpt from Guardian article: “A visit by the Guardian to downtown Portland on Saturday morning confirmed that the city is placid, the farmers’ market was packed and the protest against immigration enforcement in an outlying residential neighborhood remained small. There were just four protesters on the sidewalk near the Ice field office Trump claimed was “under siege”. One, wearing a chicken costume and draped in an American flag, held up a sign that read: “Portland Will Outlive Him.” Passing motorists honked in appreciation.”

Can't believe I had to issue a request like this, but apparently news outlets are printing completely fabricated quotes now
To Whom It May Concern,

I became aware of your recent article “Trump posts fake video of Obama in jail, declares ‘treason’ and ‘crime of the century’ in AI-driven blitz” which contains a completely fabricated quote from me. The article attributes the following to me regarding Donald Trump’s AI video depicting Obama’s arrest:

“This deepfake is political disinformation at its worst,” said Nina Jankowicz, disinformation analyst and former executive director of the US Disinformation Governance Board. “It erodes public trust, damages reputations, and poses serious threats to democratic stability.”

I did not say this. In fact, I have not issued any comment related to this Trump AI video to your outlet or the public. The manufactured quote is incorrect and irrelevant, and it negatively impacts my professional reputation.

Please remove the false quotation and append a correction to the article, stating that a prior version of this article included a quote falsely attributed to Nina Jankowicz.

Sincerely,

Nina Jankowicz
