My dog Bean had that this year. The vet discovered seeds in both ears: one new, one really old. He also discovered a benign cancer and had that removed too. Hope for a speedy recovery!

How and Why We Bought 4x DGX Sparks by Alex Ellis
In June we deployed an RTX 6000 Pro into production, a few weeks later, we're now operating DGX Sparks for the team. Learn how and why.

Starting to get frustrated that my Claude Code Max x20 renews Thursday at 4AM and I've used my limit but Saturday midday. 2nd week in a row.

It might be down to the age demographic, but last night I went to see Marillion and I did not see a single phone being held aloft, bathing everyone in blue light. There was just a building full of people living in the moment, fully engaged and relishing every second for themselves.

This is a fantastic point. Bizarrely we've entered a world in which the model you speak to is as changeable as the land above the Magic Faraway Tree. I'm ready for models with version numbers and something like semver. Documented breaking changes for new releases of models, would be a feature

Trying Out WSL Containers: Microsoft's Built-In Alternative to Docker Desktop by Mike Evans-Larah
Microsoft's new WSL Containers (wslc) promises container management on Windows without Docker Desktop. I tried it with dev containers, Aspire, and Docker Compose - here's what works, what doesn't, and whether you should switch yet.

I wanted to buy a longer bar & chain for my chainsaw. It was cheaper to buy a new, more powerful chainsaw, which came with a longer bar and 2x chains. Sigh.

I was a little shocked to see the Wildfire in the New Forest from my daily photo spot. When I was a kid they used to burn the fields after the harvest, but I've not seen anything like this on the horizon before.

Pollack, chorizo and chickpea stew recipe
A one-pot dish that's easy to prepare and serve a crowd. Pollack is a cheaper variety of white fish and is perfect for poaching in the flavourful stew.

For the last year I've been suggesting to anyone who'll listen that the northstar / mission of .NET should be ".NET is the best platform for Y" where Y is the workload. This post from @jeffhandley.com is the first time I've seen this articulated in the wild. .NET is the best platform for MCP.

I'm really sad that the old ASP.NET MVC Spark view engine died, the inline html ethos was great. The nearest modern equivalent I guess is htmx.
