Sir Ian McKellen orates 'The Stranger's Case' from 'Sir Thomas More' by Shakespeare about the Evil May Day xenophobic riot of 1517 in London. This passage was written 400 years ago, but times never change. Humanity refuses to change its unwarranted bias against 'others'.

BTW A corporation cannot drive a car. A corp is not a person. So, a corporation should not have a vote. Consider: every person working in the corporation already has a vote. For the corporation to have its own vote would be giving people in the corporation a second vote. = illegal.

The allegations in the Cornell sexual assault case are deeply disturbing and gut-wrenching. Cornell University has failed this survivor.

I fully support Governor Hochul's decision to name Attorney General James as special prosecutor in this case and look forward to the complete and extensive investigation that is to come.

Many Hispanic voters heard secure the border and deport violent criminals. What they got was cruelty to: workers, parents, grandparents, children, longtime residents and people with no criminal conviction. This is buyer’s remorse on an epic scale. #LetsGetVoteReady

Americans are relearning the lesson we learned during the Gilded Age of the late 1890s, when robber barons ran the government and the economy for their own benefit: Oligarchy is incompatible with the common good. I'm hopeful we'll respond with a new progressive movement.

A gentle little radish flower. Radishes are faithful garden servants. I don’t eat the bulbs; I don’t like them. But their tiny flowers are delightful, sprinkled here and there among other plants. They feed countless pollinators for months, and their roots nourish the soil. Good night, all. 💤
I grow what are called Groundhog daikon radishes. Their deep roots break up hard packed soil, creating channels for water and air. If left in the ground over winter, the roots decompose, feed soil organisms, and add organic material. Excellent for soil improvement.

Maria Ressa was awarded the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize (with Dmitry Muratov) for "their efforts to safeguard freedom of expression, which is a precondition for #democracy and lasting peace." She is the first Nobel laureate from the Philippines. Happy birthday @mariaressa.bsky.social 🥳
A color photograph of Maria Ressa, born October 2, 1963, the pioneering Filipino journalist, co-founder of Rappler, and co-recipient of the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize. She is standing at a dark wooden podium, captured from the chest up. Smiling broadly with an expression of joy and animation, she looks slightly to the right of the frame. She wears thin, rimless eyeglasses, a black turtleneck, and a textured, patterned blazer in shades of cream and light pink or soft orange. Her right hand is raised forward with her palm open and fingers extended in a welcoming, expressive gesture, while her left hand grips the flexible neck of a black microphone attached to the podium. The warm, soft-focus background suggests a grand indoor lecture hall or auditorium with architectural details. The bright, direct lighting emphasizes her optimistic and commanding presence, reflecting her historical significance as a fearless champion of freedom of expression and democratic resilience.
