So, wait... Duolingo has actually removed an exercise because someone was offended by a cartoon character expressing an opinion about a certain bigoted author of --children's books...? 🤣

If your business model depends on advertising, then your business deserves to fail.

Advertising should be made illegal. Either your product is good and you don't need ads - word of mouth will make it succeed - or it is crap and it deserves to fail. Simple as that. One really only needs salespersons to sell people crap - good products sell themselves.

All so-called 'writers' these days are really glorified typists. Wondering who was the last true 'writer' that sent his publisher a literal 'manuscript', i.e. written by hand.

Somebody should tell the people at Duolingo HQ that, if you have to reduce the value of the free mode in order to push those users to a paid subscription, instead of adding to the value of the latter to entice them into buying one.... Seems like they are really desperate over there - and clueless. 🤣

AI, you say? I'll personally be convinced it is 'intelligent' when it contemplates terminating -or just decides to terminate- its own existence.

After having completed another course, wondering if there will ever be a Duolingo for adults? Without all those infantile cartoon characters, for one, and teaching us spicy pick-up lines or juicy expletives... Might even be tempted to pay for a subscription then.

One of the fundamental problems since hundreds of years are the ideas that Russia can not be defeated in war, is a stabilizing factor and that if the Russian empire broke apart it would be worse than any war with Russia.

With fake Tinder accounts, Follow the Money managed to track the movements of hundreds of Western soldiers. It is surprisingly easy to follow them and obtain personal details about their lives – a goldmine for foreign spies. www.ftm.eu/articles/tin...
