Good advice, though I recommend a 2nd u-lock, to go with the first one and the cable. Make your bike harder to steal than the others in the rack.

This intersection is dangerous by design. It made Louisa's death inevitable, it continues to leave people at risk. When will Mayor @wutrain.bsky.social understand that enough is enough. Safe streets can't wait!

People used social media to make outrageous claims designed to generate outrage. Far too many just uncritically accept what they see because it suits their preconceived notions. Kraft may be a scumbag, but this claim is a complete fabrication.

his basic ignorance of the subject is evident in that he equates country music with white rurality. not only does he appear unaware of the diversity of rural america, but he doesn’t seem to get that the principle audience for this stuff is suburban and exurban

Just about everything Trump does or says he'll do is illegal. Only Congress can appropriate funds, regardless of how those funds were acquired.

This seems a reasonable explanation for the overt hatered most bike riders experience. The conclusion is important --focus on helping people to understand that bicycle use reduces traffic, rather than making the effort to explain that we really aren't getting a free ride or abusing road rules.

"Why should my tax dollars go to giving houses to people who can't afford them?" Why should MY tax dollars should go to satisfying your desire to see desperate people living desperate lives? I'd rather save money and solve the problem, rather than spend money to exacerbate it.

This guy complaining about too many bikes on his road, is probably the same guy who complains that he never sees any bikes in the bike lanes. It's not really about too many or too few, they just hate bike riders.

Does replacing parking with bike-lanes hurt restaurant business? Of course not, as this new peer-reviewed STUDY of 15 years of Montreal data showed. ACTUALLY, downtown experienced significant restaurant growth after bike lanes were installed. @momentummag.bsky.social momentummag.com/do-bike-lane...

Aside from its many other problems, the idea Fauci was America's power-abusing covid dictator is somewhat complicated by the fact that he never had the power to do the things they're mad about. His recommendations bound nobody and were not particularly rigorously followed by the actual policymakers.

More concrete barriers, truck safety rules, parking enforcement: Wu outlines street safety plans after cyclist’s death - The Boston Globe
Mayor Michelle Wu released a letter summarizing how the city will seek to improve street safety in the wake of a crash that killed city planner Louisa Gag.

This letter convinces me that Wu does not plan to change her approach to street safety, continuing to prioritize neighborhood groups complaints and “beauty” over safety. If I worked for the Mayor, after reading this letter, I’d probably plan to quit. It shows her priorities clearly enough.

This letter is garbage: more consulting and audits, a small list of tweaks. Don't take credit for Cummins, Mayor @wutrain.bsky.social, it was well into the planning before you reached office. If you thought we wouldn't notice it offers nothing, you were wrong. Try harder, lives depend on this.

This is a bad plan, which is to say it is not a plan at all. It's still full of double talk and word salad that means nothing She's saying a lot of what she WON'T do: no new bike corridors, ignoring bus lane projects like Blue Hill And weird stuff around community involvement She's scaling back

One thing I don't think @wutrain.bsky.social understands as she's blocked and rolled back safe biking infrastructure is that particularly in the last 2 years, biking has become a normal way to travel in Boston for EVERYONE, including families Lots of kids on these lanes she refuses to protect
Father and child biking over W 4th St Bridge on an unprotected bike lane with a car to the leftFather and child using a bikeway under the highway riding side by side safety and peacefullyFather and 2 children riding bikes through pedestrianized Washington Street side by side
