I got some studio time in this morning AND cleaned up the house a little bit. All before 10 am. I don’t fire on all cylinders a lot right now but I’ll take it when I do

I haven’t felt like sharing lately, I’m just angry or numb all the time. I feel like I am surrounded by idiots who all just live in their own bubble while the country falls.

I want to make more work about the time we’re in, or protest posters for my friends. But when I get to my studio all I can bring myself to make is more landscapes. It’s hard to process the time we’re in and figure out how to speak to it.

Just realized that I gained over 500 followers, so to celebrate I’ve decided to host a little #artshare!!! ✨ Share this post for visibility! ✨ Share your art! ✨ Interact with others! ✨Tag your friends! ✨No A/I/ or N/F/T

The image shows a horse-drawn cart with people in it following a meadow in a meadow. In the background you can see the meadow extending along with the path, both ending in a forest and, at the far end of the background, there are some small mountains.
In the middle of the picture, there’s a sign with the word Artshare.

I am so, so tired. And I know you are, too. Here's “Death blowing bubbles,” 18th century. The bubbles symbolize life's fragility. This plaster work appears on the ceiling of Holy Grave Chapel in Michaelsberg Abbey, Bamberg, Germany. After the monastery’s dissolution, it became a hospital.

Plasterwork of a skeleton blowing bubbles set against a pale blue wall.

Process pics of my most recent block. I don’t usually do it this way, but I wanted to get a better idea of what color blocks I would use so I painted the entire image with watercolors before carving. #woodblock #woodcut #printmaking #art #artprocess

The up side of having to spend all weekend organizing the garage is realizing you’ve been sitting on perfect wood for making frames this whole time. I can’t wait to have my own shadow frames so I stop having to glue foam core strips to space the mat away from the glass. #art #framing #nicheaf

Sometimes I buy frames from the thrift store for my little skulls (complete with the tiniest mat I have ever cut) From the archives because I’m teaching watercolor this week and it’s consuming all of my energy. The kids keep asking when we’re going to use “real paint” 🙃 #printmaking #artteacher

Had to clamber over a barbed wire fence, rip my coat and trespass to get a photo of this folkloric monster pretending half-successfully to be a tree. I have no regrets.

A tree - possibly an ent - with legs, arms and an unusually large bellybutton.

Life advice for the ages. Those doing wrong want you tired and hopeless. But stay angry. And when a chance is in front of you: bite back. Digital plans for a real linocut. I'm anxiously awaiting a press to make this stuff possible with my RSI in my hands. #art #tiger #resist #linocut

The image is digital art made up to look like a two color linocut print. It features a geometric twisting snarling tiger. It's flanked by the text "Stay Angry" and "Bite Back" that follows the contours of the tiger.
