On Labor Day let's remember the men & women who wake up before the sun and work through the heat, rain and more to put food on our tables. Their work deserves fair wages, safe working conditions, dignity and a voice on the job. This #LaborDay stand with farm workers. #WeFeedYou

Also try books from Diana Wynne Jones, like Howl's Moving Castle (the inspiration for the Studio Ghibli movie, but a bit different plot) and House of Many Ways. Fun and unexpected.

How is this different from so many other businesses or industries that have had to deal with the chaos caused by this administration? (Despite what the PR wants us to think, most of them are not growing food for humans.) Owning a farm is owning a business. Adapt or fail.

Coerced or not, it still means civilians die if our warmonger-in-chief gets his plan implemented. I was already appalled. This is beyond my ability to react.

This moon voyage is an incredible testament to human ingenuity and what we can achieve when THOUSANDS of people work together for a common goal and share knowledge, experience, and care for each other This war is the opposite and is the personal profit vendetta of the few. We could do so much more

Saw an interesting piece of advice recently: ask the AI search engines for an answer in a field in which you are very knowledgeable. The results will make it clear just how much they get wrong, and how brazen they are about it. Now, apply that to every subject in which you are NOT an expert.

The average US taxpayer spends $36 a year on SNAP You know what they spend on corporate subsidies? $670 Poor and disabled people who need food are not the problem If you’re angry about “your money” feeding people but not angry it’s giving tax cuts to the wealthy? You’re doing their dirty work.

Also, why is it that moms (or parents in general) should do the research to keep their kids safe, but not that people should build their own roads, or be responsible for their own water supply, or electricity, or bail out their own farm? (I could go on, but I will stop)

So this administration doesn't count birth certificates as valid documents? And yet that is supposed to be the arbiter for who is a woman? (I know that's a whole other topic but the BS is so deep it spills over) They just don't want any rules or logic to apply

/2 First, note the dogged equivalence between forcible state censorship, on the one hand, and “cancel culture” on the other. But there is no equivalence. One is state suppression of free expression, the other is an exercise of free expression that is subject to critique.

JUST IN: Colorado adopted a new law that's a national first: It mandates in-person polling places within local jails, to help people detained there vote. The Governor just signed the bill into law. Key context: People in jails typically already have right to vote but face enormous hurdles.
