Resellers ruined our old neighborhood’s Little Free Library. A guy started showing up, scanning everything, and clearing out the whole box! There wasn’t anything to do about it, the books were free and it was in a public park. Eventually everyone just stopped using it bc what’s even the point?

(We couldn’t. Many species of bats legally protected and they are one of the few animals that don’t mind cohabiting with other sub species. Plus bats are like rats or frogs, they’ll squeeze into nooks and crannies and trying to kill them all will just lead to rotting bats all over your home.)

I am a life long mega fan of bats. Loving bags like a deep down, childhood identity thing for me. And when we found four (4!) in our living room we asked the bat man if it was possible to set off a nuclear device in our beloved home and if that would be enough and if we could go bigger.

As an anthropological observation last year I visited the city during the second week of November and I noticed that while a lot of people in my new town had their Christmas trees up the day after Halloween my old neighborhood still had (often modified) Halloween decorations up.
