Fun to hear Jeremy talk about some 111-year-old movies (though he misses the Castro Theatre’s opening year by two- it opened June 1922 with Wallace Reid vehicle ACROSS THE CONTINENT & played Chaplin’s big release from that year PAY DAY during its first month open.)

It was fun being in a crowd of several hundred people enjoying THE HISTORY OF CONCRETE but I have to admit to mixed feelings about John Wilson’s mainstream success, as a longtime George Kuchar fan.

Very sad to hear. Her work in Godard’s TWO OR THREE THINGS is astounding, especially when you read up on how they shot it. Also captivating in NUDE IN A WHITE CAR and ADORABLE LIAR.

This guy makes up my list of Dems I won't vote for in the general election. I have no faith that he'll move policy forward and every confidence that he will damage the country and party in ways that would outlast his term. Do not nominate him.

Last 33 minutes to give The White Stripes a few more votes. Not likely for them to make a surprise come-from-behind victory, but maybe they could edge into losing by less than a ten percentage point margin? Prior final matches were in that range unless they involved Radiohead, Public Enemy or ODELAY

Wilco is a good band but I’ve long been more in the White Stripes camp, & think this is their best album. Also, if YHF keeps its lead this will become the 5th straight year poll where the top seed wins the tournament. The #3 seed is the highest to have NEVER won a bracket in 15 tries. It’s overdue.

I bet Björk wouldn’t have lost to Wilco the other day if it hadn’t been for people using their prediction bracket to break a tie between 2 albums they didn’t have strong feelings about. She deserves to beat the Strokes in a non-bracket-binding match as recompense. (Also because VESPERTINE is better)

I’ve voted against both of these more than for them, but I can’t deny they’re both good. And it’s fitting that the album with “Everything Is Free” gets to face one of the highest-profile use cases of that song’s philosophical manifesto. I voted for the song (& album), not the use case.
