Y'all, our podcast webhost has a feature that writes AI show notes for us without us asking (this is not those notes), and I swear to God it's the dumbest, funniest thing ever -- just like the 2026 stoner-com The Wrong Girls, which Podbean's AI assures me is the subject of this "September" episode.

Episode #170: The Wrong Girls — Falling In Love Montage

Every other week, Valerie and Helen break down a different chick flick with a proprietary tampon-based rating system and zero chill.

At long last, we rewatched Romancing the Stone and found that -- when traveling to stereotypical 1984 Colombia, there's a lot to (un)pack. But the good news is this: 1) it's still a madcap romp, 2) it's not Milo and Otis, and 3) it's still got sexy leads -- and yes, we're talking about Danny DeVito.

There was a tractor-trailer fire up ahead and the entire highway is closed but the good news is I have reading material and it's not like it's a story about methods of transportation getting impossibly stuck somewhere indefinitely

The hand of someone in the passenger seat of a car stopped in traffic holding a copy of the book The Terror, by Dan Simmons, which is very much a story about methods of transportation getting impossibly stuck somewhere indefinitely

Got left behind today but not letting it get me down because the guys that got raptured didn’t even get to bring their Baja Blasts

After covering 158 non-Ryan-Reynolds movies, we owed it to our listeners and ourselves to tag the guy in. So here he is: Ryan Reynolds in the 2008 "Brooksy" feature Definitely, Maybe, a movie that -- if you used only this episode as evidence -- you would swear was maybe our favorite movie ever?

To celebrate its 40-year anniversary — and the 10-year anniversary of us somehow not covering the movie already whoops — we brought back Amy Pascale, pHD (physician[?] on Howard Deutch), to discuss the beloved teen rom-com-dram Pretty in Pink.

I am impeaching Secretary Kristi Noem, who is an incompetent leader and a disgrace to our democracy. She wreaked havoc in the Chicagoland area and has brought her reign of terror to Minneapolis. One of her rogue ICE agents shot and killed an innocent woman today. It must come to an end.
