I miss the feeling of being inside a cozy house in Newfoundland when the weather outside is truly shitty. I mean shitty for Newfoundland, which is like seventy times as shitty as the shittiest weather available down here in the lower 48.

between medical bureaucracy and secondary education bureaucracy and travel bureaucracy I feel like I'm floating through a blizzard of forms and choices, some of which are mandatory, some optional, some not relevant to me at all. I can't tell which is which and am just flailing and hoping.

A sheet with questions about how to use the equipment to take an ORF test (Oral Reading Fluency). It’s clear by the end that it’s a one-shot attempt at creating a recording with no backsies for technical difficulties. Almost certainly autograded by a machine, I imagine. Hope it can cope with different varieties of English. I bet it can’t.
