I'd recommend 'the combative danes' (loose translation), but I'm not sure it exists in english yet. It has a section on Danish Mormons after the introduction of freedom of religion (spoiler: it wasn't that free)

I think a fun way to achieve a kind of immortality would be to summit Everest and then get nude at the very top and die in an attempted self-suck position. Try to get frozen to the spot so they can't get you down and everyone has to deal with you forever. A quick before and after of the concept.
A photo of a smiling man in an orange snowsuit standing at the peak of Mt. Everest, his arms raised in triumph The same photo, but now there is a crude doodle of a figure crouched at the triumphant climber's feet. The figure is dead and frozen and looks like he's trying to suck his own dick, which is fairly shriveled from the intense cold.

Systems and modules and scenarios should make you tell stories you would never tell on your own.

Ran a playtest today for my scenario In the Shadow of Us-hindava. Went great, lots of smallish things to change! The players now hate fascism a little bit more.

I got so excited about Atrapos that I commissioned a mosaic and made plans to transform it into a 3D book cover involving two varnished and tile-grout debossing. Look at this fucking thing, my LORD. What on earth could @soulmuppet.co.uk do next?

Hurrah for fancy mosaic TTRPG covers! I'll be very entertained if this turns into a trend.

Maybe you like to play a TTRPG as a little elf guy (or gal) and you're fed up with your usual green elf and semi spongey real DeviantArt adjacent art for your beautiful little elf guy (or gal) and so now you're thinking about switching up to a frogboi elf guy (or gal)

In the Shadow of Us-hindava is now on the program for Fastaval 2027 Pitching for Fastaval has become easier for me over the years, after realizing they don't want a sales pitch, but rather a concrete description of the scenario.

Counter-opinion: Unionize literally every profession connected with higher education. Grad students. Adjuncts. Staff. Custodians. Undergrad student workers. Employers exploit any "wiggle room" in the system, so now we give them absolutely none.

This might just be my libidinal counter-investment speaking, but are we sure Hasbro disintegrating is a bad thing? Won't the consumption move elsewhere?

Kids get to have secrets, an identity arc, a hidden world that's just for them, a series of letters just between them and their best friend, a phone conversation no one needs to listen in on, a device that they can eventually configure for themselves, and a sexuality. Because I got to have these.

There was always the possibility of Carthage reducing their military investment, or Rome electing, like, the worst Sulpicius.

What I loved so much was that the sheer length of the game (about 40 hours) made it possible to suffer horrendous setbacks, and still have the possibility of clawing yourself out of the gutter.

I'm looking forward to having time for a big game again, having a baby makes it difficult, but reading this thread made me want to dig into something truly challenging again. One of my greatest gaming experiences was playing one (1) full game of Carthage: The First Punic War.

This weekend I had the privilege of grappling with some very big and difficult games with a spotlight on Michael Lorino's Imperial Elegy. As usual, the whole experience got me thinking about big games, what they demand of their players and the rewards to be found in their exploration. 🧵

Been pretty dormant this summer, but I have written a synopsis for a sequel to Ahriman and Zâr, so not that dormant after all. It's called 'In the Shadow of Us-hindava' and delves into the psyche if those who judge, yet long for escape.

I am daunted by novels in connection with so many other novels. I have read Going Postal, and really enjoyed it, but the thought of diving into more discworld exhausts me. Wondering if I should listen to your podcast, and then decide what to read, rather than the other way around.
