Introducing JournalKit
Journalkit is a piece of software for a specific kind of person: someone who wants to design their own physical daily journal for handwriting in, but prefers to think in code, modules, and measurements while doing so.

Rewatched Pluribus and was struck by 1. How much the conversations with the Others reminds me of LLMs: the world’s knowledge, yet still limited, all in a charming but unsettling package and 2. How much I realllllllly want season 2 to come faster. #Pluribus #TV #AppleTV

I hate relying on Amazon healthcare but I gotta say, it feels like magic that I can message One Medical on a Saturday and two hours later have a flu antiviral scrip. (I’m also mad that this feels like magic. Shouldn’t this just be how all medicine works?)

A periodic reminder to my friends on Bluesky that one way you can make the web more open is by bridging you accounts to the Fediverse! chromamine.com/2025/02/bluesky-frie…

Bluesky friends, consider bridging to the Fediverse!
As I and others have been exploring our social media horizons beyond the legacy options of Twitter/X, Facebook, Instagram, etc., I’ve made no secret of my skepticism about Bluesky. But I’ve also been lurking there lately and the center of gravity for the political news and conversation I used to get from Twitter is definitely on Bluesky now.

Just remembering this passage from Mark Bittman’s original edition of How To Cook Everything which was clearly written while he was depression eating an entire bowl of cherries.
Cherry
Sadly, I think most of us have missed out on the really good cherries; this is the fruit of romance, of fairs, of paradise. Yet none of the cherries we are able to buy come close. Yes, there's an occasional one or two in the batch that makes us pause and think, "Oh. Now I remember why I love these." But these days the fact is that a bowl of cherries is a lot like life—fairly mundane, with some high spots.
