There were 5 eggs originally.
Three were taken, possibly by an owl.
The remaining 2 hatched.
Those chicks survived thick and thin. Storms, driving rain and the heatwave.
One then disappeared.
Today the last juvenile who was so beautiful in his brown plummage was hit by a car.
(Feeling very sad).
