Tiana would have used indoor plumbing; we see a sink (with a tap) full of dishes in the initial diner scenes. Also, Monsters Inc. has a whole scene set in the bathrooms, so the monster world definitely has it.

I'm not even a huge coaster fan, but I've heard about X2's bad reputation for a long time. "4th dimension coasters" that combine freespinning with an intense track can produce some wild, hard-to-predict forces. The seats/restraints seem to have also played a role. Tragic, but perhaps not surprising.

It looks like something out of The Prisoner. Something about the light and resolution just gives it that 1960s dystopian TV vibe.

I suspect it's similar for coal miners, or ranchers, or other professions that get turned into political talking points. You will keep getting reminded of that part of yourself, reinforcing those memories, cementing it as "who you are."

I suspect it has a lot to do with the cultural milieu in which you find yourself. My federal job was cut by DOGE, and my old boss gets dragged in front of Congress about every six months. Even though I have a new job I love, it's hard to move on when my old identity is constantly in the news.

At my own wedding, I interrupted a nice conversation with my new mother-in-law to say, "Excuse me, I have to go, they're playing my song" and sprinted down to the dance floor, to finish the line... "A LETTER OF MARQUE CAME FROM THE KING, TO THE SCUMMIEST VESSEL I'VE EVER SEEN"

Less sympathetic with younger-teenage-me. I was an uptight snob for no good reason. More sympathetic for the late teenage years, after the anxiety kicked into high gear. I needed help with that and didn't even know it was an option.

a little tiny microscopic dragon, rotifers passing by. I've spent a lot of time peering down a microscope in the last few years, enjoyed taking inspiration from the real tiny organisms to make one of my own.
Watercolour and pencil illustration of a microscopic dragon sitting on a plant root. It's body is transparent and it has two rounded wings covered in beating cilia hairs. It has a long neck and blunt snout with long whiskers. Inside its neck, large jaws are visible and it has tiny black eyes.

The dragon has large claws on its feet, like a water bear, and a long segmented tail hangs down and splitting into a fork at the end. From the root, golden diatoms are growing, and sun animalcules creep along it as a group of rotifers swims past.
