Yesterday, the popular singer and musician Liu Huan 刘欢 has passed away. Liu Huan is one of the most famous Chinese singers, being responsible for many iconic songs, including in Romance of the Three Kingdoms and the 1998 Water Margin series. His was an important voice in his generation. RIP

Wudang Feijun 无当飞军 (lit. "Unstoppable Flying Army"), are one of the elite armies of Shu-Han of the Three Kingdoms. They were comprised of warriors from Nanzhong and mentioned in Records in many battles, such as rescuing Ma Su in the battle of Jieting and defeating Zhang He of Cao-Wei. #history

In 1994 Three Kingdoms, the court robes (朝服) worn by the officials are based on actual uniform worn in the Han Dynasty. Civil officials wore black & a hat called "Jinxian-guan"(进贤冠) while military is red & a "wuguan"(武冠) or "wubian"(武弁)-hat, sometimes decorated with two pheasant feathers. -> (1/7)

Watched John Woo's RED CLIFF PART 1 & 2. A more romantic take on the Three Kingdoms where Wu and Shu aren't distrustful allies, but comrades united by Loyalty and Brotherhood. In doing so it sands down a lot of characters, but there's too little of Woo's trademark exaggerated melodrama to compensate

Cheng Yu 程昱, who allegedly killed his fellow villagers to procure meat for Cao Cao during a famine, was originally named Cheng Li 程立. Cao Cao added 日 on top of 立 to form 昱 because Cheng Yu once dreamed of grasping the sun 日 with his hands on top of Mount Tai. （《三國志注：程昱傳》）

Cheng Yu, styled Zhongde, was an advisor under Cao Cao.
