It's so much easier to be present in my own mind. To say "I want this" and then do the work to get it. The Gender of it all is an aside, almost. I was always a woman, but being able to see myself made me able to see the linearity of the path I took to get here. Seeing myself is what's new.

The biggest mental shift transition caused for me was "This matters now." Nothing to do with gender, sex, presentation, or anything like that. It turned the idea of something like happiness from a nebulous, aetheric thing that sometimes passed through me into something I could reach out and grab.

Their new leader is very progressive and I believe in her vision, but I live in a riding that will almost certainly go conservative, and also fully expect the NDP to win a majority handily anyway. I've voted NDP in many elections, but they've gone centrist and that's not me

I think David Eby is a bit of a puke so I'll be voting Green this time around. They have zero chance in my riding but they're the only ones I've seen actually talking to trans people. And the NDP is drastically increasing SRS wait times which feels like a pretty big fuck you to me
