David @hamlabum.bsky.social · 12/06/2026One of my favorite games ever when played as a pure vibe game with invincibility on. (The bloody screen blur on low health even encouraged me to play fights "correctly" despite not taking damage.) An infuriating mess when I play it any other way. Absolutely love it, can't wait for Resonant. 100

David @hamlabum.bsky.social · 11/05/2026"Geschmackssache" might do it! Funnily, there's an often quoted cliche phrase from German games journalism that basically amounts to "fans of the genre should get this blindly, everyone else should play a demo". ("Genrefans greifen zu, alle anderen spielen Probe.") 130

David @hamlabum.bsky.social · 28/03/2026Yeah, fair enough. It is a valid complaint, kinda. I just wish there was a way to keep it from muddling the relevant parts of the score. But sure, it's easy to filter out as long as it's not too many reviews overall. 010
David @hamlabum.bsky.social · 28/03/2026Was researching carpenters and found some with absolutely glowing reviews, muddled by a few one-stars concerned solely with their employees' driving style - in city traffic, unrelated to any jobs. 110

David @hamlabum.bsky.social · 07/02/2026Also, if you took the "aesthetics" of curling/winter sports to make a very abstract MOBA without the fantasy violence, it might be much easier to make olympic esports a thing 010
David @hamlabum.bsky.social · 07/02/2026In honour of the winter Olympics, here's my most unique video game take: MOBAs are, at their very core, curling games where you play as the broom. 130
David @hamlabum.bsky.social · 07/02/2026Not a perfect example but Lego Rock Raiders does sth like that. You don't have a hero character but you can take control of any unit or vehicle anytime and play them in 3rd or 1st person to explore and mine resources. (Combat is done via indirect orders, even on the RTS layer) 010
