What if you see ICE at the polls? (Don't worry! Read on for the plan!) @indivisible.org roped me in to design and illustrate a new zine! Check it out in this 🧵 - and visit linktr.ee/wewillvote to sign up for the Election Protection Program and find all the resources you need!
Page 1: text reads "WHAT IF YOU SEE ICE AT THE POLLS? (Don't worry! Read on for the plan!)"

Image shows pen and ink drawings of an ICE agent peeking around one side of the word ICE and a determined looking person holding up a cell phone as if to record peering around the other side.

And a good way to keep kids in the local school system, keep learning and eat scores on track and help keep enrollments up. Low cost way to help everyone.

worth also noting that both the murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti happened in her district, and on top of the obviously racist targeting of her personally this is also an attempt to deny the people of Minneapolis their democratically elected representative

Watched the first episode recently and was amazed at a) the lack of polish (in a good way) - ex.: a LOT was filmed in that one LA park and b) how many of the classic bits were there from Day 1.

I've loved these punches ever since I learned about them in a Batman story when I was a kid. The crook was caught because a distinctive punch had fallen into his pants cuff. Growing up in Texas, where we really didn't have mass transit, I'd never seen one.

Designs for ticket punches, c. 1914 from "Hardware, Tools & Supplies - Catalogue No. 500,” Hammacher, Schlemmer & Co., New York Image: International Tool Catalog Library Collection via @archive.org; archive.org/details/hamm...
A catalog page on sepia paper titled "Designs For Ticket Punches." The page features a grid of several hundred unique, numbered ticket punch silhouettes including symbols and icons like hearts, stars, anchors, letters, numbers 1-9, arrows, a tree, bell, train car, moon, anvil, hat, horse head, and many that just seem abstract. The footer reads "PAGE 626" and "SEE DISCOUNT SHEET."

Archivist’s note: “The (catalog) scan is from the Internet Archive's Smithsonian Libraries collection … The catalog was issued in 1914 or 1915 according to magazines of the period.”

They quoted me in this New Yorker piece about AI today. www.newyorker.com/culture/the-...
“Let’s say there’s a world or time line I exist in where A.I. has been subject to regulation. It is ethical. It has no footprint environmentally,” the novelist Jeff VanderMeer, a prominent critic of A.I., told me over the phone. “With those guardrails in place, would I read an A.I. book? All I can say is no. And the reason is, in part, because I want to read something coming from a particular mind.” Using A.I., he said, “feels like a betrayal of the whole point of why you’re a writer.”
