Feedback from healthcare providers in response to the AI pilot program has been scathing, with one calling it “a disgrace to the human race” and reporting that they saw patients crying in pain as they waited for care.

Again to make the biotech comparison “the experiment went wrong” would also be a result of human incompetence or negligence. The AI industry would do well to study how the pharmaceutical industry makes sure that their clinical trials keep patients safe and apply the similar guardrails

I’ve been making this comparison for a while but now the NYT has picked it up- if we can regulate biotech which has the potential to be far more dangerous than AI we can regulate AI www.nytimes.com/2026/09/23/u...

Can’t wait for the midterms to be over so that I can write guilt free again. This is the one downside to being a small town politico in a swing state- you start feeling like the fate of the US senate is in your hands if you don’t show up to the office to canvas on the weekends

This is the shit we need. Can you imagine being able to cut the CO2 emissions from air travel virtually overnight? There'd obviously still be production pollutants from batteries & the planes themselves, but come on: call it $200 of electricity for DC to ATL, fully loaded? Vs ~$4k in jet fuel? Shit…
