A little more animation progress tonight on the short where Isambard Inkblot encounters a French locomotive for the first time. Got to do a background painting and a second group of layers for the two insert shots, but, I'm pretty pleased with this so far

Retsof, my goat sona, angrily pointing and yelling "IT'S CALLED # TRUNK CORE" at a pig character regarding a dumb GTW train vapor wave shitpost. The background is a Trainz screenshot of GTW 6325 in an obnoxious blue and purple void with text from the trailer to the video "6325 Return to Steam" overlaid on the bottom.

Clearly a bridge too far on the Miscreant Valley Railroad as SP No. 20, “Bizzie”, hovers above the eventual Taupin Creek. Close to laying the golden spike on the MVRy mainline, just have to… construct a bridge now. #hotrains #modeltrains

Painted three new passenger cars into a custom two-tone purple scheme - Got to add some pinstripes and lettering next, and maybe narrow vestibules, but, I'm really pleased with how they turned out!

I think the extruder on my printer is work out, the cog has a groove in it where the filament was being gripped Pulled it up on the axle slightly, so it seems to work properly now, but mannnnn this thing fucking sucks

My printer has decided it doesn’t want to co-operate with me, which leads me to believe this is the final chassis revision, if I can coax one final print out of this thing then I’ll be a happy gal

It’s almost 5am I’ve watched so many prints fail over the past day But it’s fucking done The gears mesh, the wheels turn I need to do some work on this motor before I try giving it power, but my first printed chassis looks like it’s going to work

Hacksworth Sidings (Jay) @hacksworthsidings.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

3am, bored as hell trying to sleep, so I finally dug out the drive gear I intended to use on this chassis, as a result I now have version 8 on the printer… It’s honestly been fun figuring out chassis stuff, I kinda want to do this more lol

While waiting for what is the fifth version of the chassis to print, I decided to throw some rods on one of the earlier attempts Is only temporary, but I’ve a little more confidence that this will actually work now, lol

I can’t wait for the day I die and my models get put on an auction site, with my usual modelling style you’d think “oh these were made by a dedicated grandad in the 60s and 70s” but they’re actually made by a transfem furry in the 21st century

Third revision, motor now fits, need to extend the rear screwmount so it’ll actually bolt down A new nozzle on the printer too, so the quality was a lot better, leading me to discover how much play is currently in the bearings Any guesses to what’s being made? :)

I believe that McGowan models had a bit of reputation in their day for being challenging to build and the kits did not contain a lot of detail. Also they didn't include chassis, so whoever built this probably used whatever chassis and running gear they had/could fit.

A great new addition to my collection, a oo scale McGowan metal kit of a LNER D49 named The Fitzwilliam. Fully lined and painted to a high standard, just a few chips that need touching up. It’s just a beautiful loco in the fully lined apple green. Needs a little work but it’s great #modelrailroad

After a bit of work, mostly fiddling with the power pickups, The Fitzwilliam is running once again. It’s a bit slow and draws a bit of power so it may need a new motor, but it’s ok for now. Really happy to see it running. Need to get some proper rolling stock to put behind it now. #modelrailroad
