New project loco has arrived! This is a vintage Lionel HO Virginian rectifier, which runs on an Athearn GP9 drive. Since there's some heat damage and a few bits of paint missing, I see that as an excuse to customize this into a Muskingum Electric locomotive!

Spent about 4 hours animating the valve gear in motion on this French 231 E locomotive, it's not perfect, but it gets the idea across (More of a "cartoon" take on the complex yet satisfying Walshaerts valve gear + Lenz rotary valve than going for exact realism)

Related to the earlier posts, I built a 231 E (Nord locomotive, one of Andre Chapelon's) in Gmod (Yes, I tested it on Sodor - I will inevitably make a character out of this loco) Real pleased with how this turned out. The loco is all prop-to-mesh and can be recolored into SNCF green easily
