Weeks later "we can't agree on a premise for The Muppet Show" is still the most self-evidently ridiculous, self-owning admission I have ever seen in the entertainment world. Just amazing, legendary

There is so much cope about this from AI advocates on X and 90% of it is just crap, if not sacrilege. I'm starting to believe there actually is a subculture cult involved in all this. What do you even say? I'm preaching to the choir here. Support human artists, read the Pope, don't idolize a system

Incredible #FireEmblem Fortune's Weave support: Theodora's culture relies on oral tradition. Her goddess forbids writing. Her old advisor wants that to change, she says no. Then it comes out he's forgetting things & despairing. There is no happy ending. Books are good, kids.

000

Todd DuBois @gwotaku.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Something good about #FireEmblem: Fortune's Weave not discussed yet: the "weapon triangle" is buried and never coming back, and the franchise is better for it. Giving each weapon type unique traits with gear or skills maybe impacting advantages is so much better.

030

Todd DuBois @gwotaku.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

The weakest part of Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, at least in the early going, is the hub world and all of the inspiration it took from Engage for that. It is relatively empty, dull, even nigh lifeless. Garreg Mach in Three Houses introduced you to things much better.

000

Todd DuBois @gwotaku.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave leading off with science fiction was not on my bingo card. I can...tolerate it. I suppose. Looking forward to the real meat.

Here's a hint: if an answer you see is "that's not what I'd expect to hear in a church today", that isn't a good enough answer. That's *their* preference and perception, not any kind of real argument regarding the actual text or theology itself.

000

Todd DuBois @gwotaku.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

Straight from the C.S. Lewis Institute, this is pieces of how "The Magician's Nephew" describes creation. Some think that Gerwig's "rock opera" concept cannot possibly fit into this. But look at the text, actually look at it. Are you sure? Why? How do you know?

"What if WoW except you don't need the game to take over your life to have a super strong character". If you were 20 when WoW came out your free time is probably not the same. That elevator pitch has appeal, no?

000

Todd DuBois @gwotaku.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

The potential appeal of World of Warcraft Forever is that you can just...enjoy it. The best thing they could possibly do with it is just think about content and never indulge in power creep on gear. Remixed, casual nostalgia. That's it.

It could be true it'll be the third game in a trilogy, it could be true it's not, it could be true it started out with the intent being either possibility and that they could yet change their minds. 3ish years is a long time (assuming 2029 window)

Todd DuBois @gwotaku.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

The vital thing to get about the "third Wild era #Zelda game maybe!" stuff is that the podcast sources DO NOT say they know a new game is set there. They know it's using the engine of #BotW / #TotK as a foundation. Twilight Princess was Wind Waker 2 before it became Twilight Princess. #LoZ #Tloz

Final Fantasy Resonance moves fast. At first I thought it was going to fall into the trap of "before you do anything, explore this whole entire ass castle that we filled with the beginnings of fetch-10-things sidequests and overwritten dialogue sequences" and then it pointedly does NOT do that

Well, dang, Final Fantasy Resonance is pretty good so far! The appeal of classic Final Fantasy games isn't just "pixel art," it's a sense of propulsion and streamlined action that's hard to pull off when you're bogged down in lengthy cut scenes and dialogue and overwrought battle animations

Very confused about how anyone thought high school should be exempted here. That's the period essential to being ready for college! It can't be for a "they should know how to use it" reason. It's a danger to development or it isn't (it clearly is). Pick a lane, then commit completely.

This kind of just came out of nowhere. Sometimes I toy with drafts things that may fit into a story someday. This is arguably way too silly for a #Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom fanfic story, but I sure did have 15 minutes of fun writing it. Purah would deserve this in an anime #Totk #Zelink

Todd DuBois @gwotaku.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

Okay, but if you're not prepared to support your stuff long term you're still gonna get called out. Especially when content gets yanked with no warning at all. What they assert - that digital is less for us than physical - is also justification for cutting prices. But they won't do that, will they?

000

Todd DuBois @gwotaku.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

Reflecting on things, Tite Kubo did not improve things on this score in the anime and maybe that ask was impossible. What do you do with a villain where strength and skill have nothing to do with an action scene? It's just "lol it didn't happen though" and then borderline torture porn, over and over
