Just wait until you’re 36.

To a point, it is. Though compared to other companies, I do trust Apple to make some effort to actually anonymize and not overreach on its collection. I’m more concerned about third party apps. That said, I use a DNS service on all my devices to block telemetry domains used by Apple and others.

Well, it did start as an N64 game, then had the Star Fox IP slapped on top of it later on.

I’ll admit that I was quite tempted when I found out about that. I don’t want to accidentally brick an expensive TV that has never been online and has a connected Apple TV, which is very capable and one of the least bad streaming boxes.

Oh, it is. Some are less worse than others though. A separate box limits the collection a degree, because it can’t see external video inputs such as a TV channels, games, or a computer display. Definitely be wary of apps and voice control options regardless of the device.

Keep it off the internet, use a separate box for streaming services, and bask in the discount you got on the TV because they thought they’d make up the difference in advertisement and tracking. I’m glad I never let my 2 LG TV’s go online…

Thank you. Definitely a place I’d like to visit in person someday. My model was trying to imagine the original that burnt down centuries ago, but they weren’t even certain how many sides it had.

The texture of those columns jumped out at me, sparking the memory of the 3D model I made in high school 23 years ago! Did you happen to get a shot of the ceiling of the stage? The computer really struggled because I used a far too high resolution image of that starry sky mural.

It has become more of a secret affair due to the great maple syrup heist fifteen years ago. So many syrupmoose were ruined.

Huh. That’s a new word for me. The cynical side of me wonders if they’re using an AI with a prompt to favour synonyms over reusing words.

Then people blindly believe it, and form groups to try and convince others that anyone who says otherwise is trying to trick you. Before long you have a full blown Vowel Movement.

I don’t follow FF XIV at all, but I do appreciate my wife’s scramble to find a trailer when I show her your posts. She is particularly invested in the drama around this voice.

More context on this #Artemis II image: * This is the night side, lit by moonlight. You can see city lights in Spain & Portugal, & a sliver of day at lower right * The Sun is entirely behind Earth, which makes it a kind of solar eclipse, but w/ Earth doing the eclipsing instead of the Moon: ☀️🌍🚀🌕
A full disc image of Earth, as seen from the Orion Crew Module. The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light. At lower left, a large brown landmass is Africa, with Spain and Portugal with twinkling lights where the planet curves. At top right, auroras glow in a thin green glow, just barely separated from the planet's surface. Earth is set against the black of space (pic: NASA/R.Wiseman)

Pretty sure the NSO app is just a webpage. Still surprised they haven’t done system themes though.

Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up. I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

That method took a lot of time and planning to build in to a home, but from before anyone imagined how much power any one home would use nowadays. I’m glad you have a modern breaker box now, but I doubt the circuits changed so you might still need those extension cords to distribute the load.

This fishing was for material grinding. I prodded him a bit for it, but more so when he told me about programming (pre-AI) a red LED to flash a simulated pulse to fool his connected exercise bike and get higher in the leaderboards. For him it’s more about whether he could, over whether he should.

My boss uses AI for code. But to be fair, he doesn’t really use it for work because he’s in the management side of the business. He uses AI for more important coding, like writing a macro to fish for him in an MMO while evading anti cheat detection.

Reminds me of this copy of Epic Mickey I kind of regret not buying.
A white jewel case for a Wii game. With only red marker, a previous owner has roughly drawn replacement cover artwork for the game Epic Mickey, including the Disney logo. A price sticker is attached, $19.95 Canadian, from Re-Play Games.
