A Hark! A Vagrant classic
Watson: Oooh, what’s that you’ve got?
Franklin: My final report
Watson: Little Rosie Franklin’s research! I bet it’s something!
Franklin: ROSALIND.
Crick: Oh, that’s a big name
W: You’re getting fancy on us! Tell me—
F: Ah. I love this game.
W: Is it a scientific breakthrough in feelings?
F: Well, I suppose I have to go into hysterics or have a baby somewhere, good day gentlemen
W: GO, GO
[W and C slip a look at F’s notes]
C: Nice
W: Quit hogging

Bees, don't be bamboozled by this floral smell! European oil #beetle larvae synthesize floral scents to trick solitary #bees into becoming unwitting Uber drivers back to their nests - where the tiny hitchhikers then feast on bee eggs😱Fascinating study by @oconnorlab.bsky.social @mpi-ce.bsky.social

Oil beetle larvae smell like flowers to manipulate bees
The European oil beetle's parasitic larvae emit a floral scent that attracts wild bees. This allows the larvae to sneak into the bees' nests

After a year of living here my flat is getting there.
A picture of OP's flat from the perspective of the grey velvet sofa. To the left is an industrial bookcase containing books, a large Monstera plant, a round orange lamp, and a Lego model of the Enterprise D. The rest of the room is decorated in grey fabric furniture, dark wood and earth tones with plenty of lamps. A mid sized TV takes up the left hand wall behind an oval bottle table.

In our latest preprint we report the unexpected discovery of Epi-STR, an R-stereoselective ortholog of the S-selective canonical Strictosidine synthases (STRs). Found in the rather obscure plant Pogonopus specious. This work was led by my stellar student Clara Morweiser! #natprod #PlantScience

Today is Transgender Day of Visibility. Solidarity today and everyday with trans and non-binary folk who claim space unapologetically. As governments turn trans visibility into a matter of “ideology,” we must refuse to see trans lives as a debate and instead nurture trans joy, safety, and belonging.

Been living here a couple of months now, and the new place is starting to be home.
A cozy open plan living room space. Against right wall is a grey sofa, a standing cream lamp, and an industrial wood and black metal bookcase. On the wall is a poster from the 1990s game Riven. In the centre is a coffee table with a plant and an orange vase on it. In the foreground is a grey armchair pointing at the centre of the room. To the left is a brown wood TV unit with a TV and several games consoles. The back wall is mostly taken up by sliding glass doors leading onto a balcony.

It's not perfect but the new place is slowly getting there!
View of a living room with a dark wooden floor. At the far end a set of balcony doors looks over the city. A grey sofa and armchair take up the right and foreground of the picture. A TV sits on a TV stand to the left. In the center an oval coffee table sits, topped with a spherical amber vase, a green candle, and a stripy leaved potted plant in a grey pot. More plants sit on a small round table in the back of the room. A tall standing lamp sits in the back right corner.

Vibes.
A resin ornament of an extremely rotund black cat sits on a wooden tray. The cat's tail sticks straight up. The cat's painted facial expression is one of deep existential dread. The 6 whiskers made of fishing line stick out at odd angles. The cars ears are painted white, it's nose pink.
