The wonderful @markbenis.bsky.social is currently orchestrating @petegresser.bsky.social's music tracks for Project Lion, and as part of the software he's using, they're being exported as MIDIS. I'm having a great time listening to these versions because it feels like I'm making a '90s Sierra game.

This comment honestly made my day. Indie dev can be a lonely thing, but knowing your work can have a positive effect on people makes it all worth it.

Please allow me to say that your game is great, and thank you for making it!
I played it during a difficult time in my life, looking for some escapism in the form of the point-and-click adventure games I loved as a kid. A Golden Wake was exactly the bit of comfort I needed, so I'll always remember it fondly. It gives me a warm feeling of nostalgia whenever I see it in my Steam library, sitting alongside other classics of the genre and reminding me that I'm in a better place now.
Beyond that, the game itself is a true gem. As someone who considers a strong sense of place one of the most important parts of any story, you did a masterful job. I'm not from Florida, but I could feel its history and character, from the charm to the excess, coming through at every turn.
l've always wanted to make a game of my own but have never found the courage. I'd be incredibly proud to have created something so well made and full of heart. Thank you for sharing it with the world!

Valve should lower their rev share portion to 15% for the first $1m a game earns. Not because it would would help small teams survive to make more games (it would), but because they would earn more money in the long term.

Giving an indie game a "thumbs down" negative review is LITERALLY a punishment. In many cases due to how the Steam algorithm works, it is a capital one. If a game just wasn't for you, or you have some feedback, please just post on the forums! Save the "thumbs down" for AI slop and other offenses.

I'm kinda wary of "it's okay to fail" games because they tend to either have no choices matter or have it turn out it's really NOT okay to fail, but Rosewater is a rare and wonderful example of a game where the player's blunders and successes both build toward an extremely rewarding experience!
